Well said, I was deceived by an eBay seller from whom I bought an i7 6700k claiming to be a never used 6700k i7, it didn't work at all, it was a hassle sending motherboard and memory back all to test and return. Intel surprised me with their service, I put the processor serial number and raised 3 year warranty claim, call came from Intel support, send dhl to pick up faulty one on Tuesday to send to Netherlands, new replacement arrived on Friday. They never asked me where did I purchase from, only thing they asked me was, was it in a retail box?

They're sold unlocked but the warranty still doesn't cover overclocking.
People going to be buying extended warranty's on their other pc components?

Is a new one coming out or something? Why the price increase?

Our country's stock of uneducated, politically and economically illiterate imbeciles rose up and followed the instructions issued to them by their low-rent tabloid of choice and voted to tank the country's economy. Expect prices only to rise further.

Warranty is not voided by overclocking as it is a 'K' CPU which has a unlocked multiplier, they are marketed as overclockers, it is voltage that kills CPU's which in turn leads to overheating, as said though impossible to tell it's been killed by a bad voltage bump.

Got my son this 2 weeks ago through Flubit for £174, I'd say things have gone up due to the pound being weak.
I will say this tho my son was only getting 30FPS on ARMA3 with a FX 8350 and GTX 970 and when he moved over to a 6600K DDR4 setup he doubled his FPS !!.

So you can't find any either.
Honestly I've never in 20 years as a nerd heard of an intel chip failing within 3 years.

I can't find any examples of people with intel chips breaking in the first few years with a quick google, the only instances of them breaking seem to be down to cooling failures.

I've used Ebuyer for years, as always some people have a problem with their e support when things go wrong but I've never had that problem.

good price for the boxed version but I saved £5 and got the unboxed version as I was using a noctua with it.
cant imagine many people buying this would want to use the stock cooler so might as well spend £5 on faster ram or anything other than a box and cooler you will never use.

The retail version doesn't come with a cooler anyway. Only advantage is a 3 year warranty as opposed to the 1 year you get unboxed.
Opening post
Price is all over the place! Back at £195 as of 8am.
