More expensive but worth it - i5 not AMD and 2TB not 1. Arrived with a couple of loose wires (blame it on UPS) but they were easy to solve and the cosmetic condition was as near perfect as I could tell. Goes like a rocket.
Looks like Argos are still trying to get shot of the last couple. Must be the c**p ones we returned for refund. Caveat emptor!!!

thanks for info
probably too late as the window to drop it at my pa's is now nearly closed (she flies out to join the kids & me tomorrow & will be working late)
if it's new & 8.1 I'll live with it
if it's used & not perfect I'll send it back as it was sold as new

was it Windows 10?
any other reports?
mine arrived @ a neighbour and my wife picked it up - there's just time to get her to drop it off at my old pa's to get him to upgrade it to W10 if that's what's needed

Had mine delivered on Monday. Bought it for my mum and it's incredible. Can't believe it's not got a SSD in. Timed it at less than 50 seconds to go from off to on and in Outlook with emails updated. Wish I'd bought one for me now.

was it at least W10?

It was sold as new so if your one is an obvious return/ second/ refurb, get yourself an exchange for a new one, blue is less ugly than red in any case

Looks like I got the runt of the litter!
Keyboard but no mouse. Definitely not 'new' - no manuals, no cable ties on the leads, and, worst of all, no boot 'beep'!!! Not sure if to push for an exchange (they've still got blue ones at higher price) or to cut and run with a refund.

Thanks for reply. Can anybody else kindly confirm the one they got sent was W10? As obviously there might be a mix of W10 & W8, the more I hear you all got W10, the happier I will be

Great stuff
Unfortunately my wife will still have a good old moan this evening. I am out of the country & was going to ask my old pa to upgrade to W10 before July 30th - is there any way my wife can tell from the outside that it is W10 without setting it up? Thx

Mine just arrived, to answer a few questions
Yes, it has a hdmi slot
Comes with Windows 10 (not 8 as previously posted)
Includes a pretty nifty free keyboard and mouse.
Only just set up, but seems pretty fast and dead quiet.

Hi, I have bought this so delivery around Monday, I have also bought a 250gb SSD, will it be easy to transfer everything from my existing desktop and 250 gb normal hard drive, also I am running windows 7, I think this comes with windows 8 but i have a free download for windows 10 which i haven't yet activated, I would imagine I would load this onto the SSD drive ?

No point in getting a GPU to play high extensive games when you have the bottleneck processor. Upgrade to CPU at least and get a cheap GPU - way better then splashing put on a whack card.

23 Jul 16#39
Would still be slow. It would need a CPU upgrade in addition. And also, might need to upgrade your PSU dependent on your GPU

I think this is a bargain! The onboard graphics are pretty damn good really, should play quite a few games quite well at 1080p if you're interested. It also looks pretty good for photoshop although any intensive work would require more RAM.

So if I got this and put a graphics card inside, it would be OK?

Mixed answers, HP website looks like it does, Argos q&a says it doesnt
Apparently not terrible, but you'd be looking at lower resolutions and details. Older stuff will probably be fine. Don't expect to play Doom at 4k with everything turned up
Nice pre-build for the money I think. The usual 'install an SSD' advice stands. Only a 180W PSU, but does have a PCI-e 16x slot. I'd say it's a full sized case so you wouldn't be limited on graphics card size, although it doesn't specifically state that it is on the HP page, it's 16.5cm wide so it should be.
A GTX 750ti draws ~65W and some models don't require additional power. Given the CPU can take 65w and 20% loss on the 180w figure leaves you with <150W to play with, it'd be close to the limit.

Easily.
Plex runs fine on my Intel Duel-core Celron G1610T. This A8 will run it without a sweat.

My dad bouth this a few weeks back for about £240 from Argos, great little PC with better graphics chip than the model below (its in blue on the Argos website). It's basic but solid and have room to upgrade inside. Need him to get an SSD next as he doesn't believe it will make it faster. DVD drive is a laptop one which I dislike but other than that for £186 its a cracking deal.
