I bought the HP 250 last summer and paid £200. This seems a great spec for the price. Free upgrade to Windows 10 available. Professionally refurbished and comes with a 12 month Tesco Outlet warranty.

Before buying a laptop please use this list or others like it. Find the highest ranked CPU for you budget, memory and storage arent as important because they can be easily upgraded at a later date. Really try to spend as much as you can or you will regret further down the line.
Just received mine and it's slower than my windows 95 machine from 20 years ago and the battery lasts 3 mins from 100%

Last year we purchased 20 of the HP 250 laptops for a school in Uganda and paid £200 each. They had the same processor as the 255 and they were quick and handy for what we needed to teach, primarily Office software and even had Photoshop installed, which ran perfectly. Can't really go wrong with this at £139!

it's 130 quid. for a laptop. I'm sure it'll do what is expected of a laptop for 130 quid. hot.

Reading the previous comments - would this laptop be good for an 11yo for school work, Internet browsing and basic gaming, please?

Got one last year from Tesco Direct for £160, upgraded the RAM 8gb and it runs GTA 5, Shadow of Mordor, Dragon Ball Xenoverse, Skyrim, Hitman Absolution, Batman Arkham City, Tomb Raider, South Park Stick of Truth, Deadpool and Star Wars KOTOR2 all fine for me. It is a bit slow with other basic tasks though. Be warned with upgrading the RAM, you have to absolutely rip this to bits to change it, full scale tear down.

Warning. Very slow. Buy the fastest CPU you can afford. Even a SSD will not save this laptop.

Wife has this laptop. Swapped in a cheap SSD for £30. Works great for basic web browsing and office tasks. Bargain!

Be warned the AMD A4 is a horrendously slow cpu, do not buy this if you plan on doing anything other than the rock bottom basics.

I think the battery life lets this one down. You'll only get an avarage of 3 hours.
