Seems a good deal for an i5 laptop sub £300. You can get i3 version with double RAM and double HDD for same price but I'd prefer the newer i5 and put my own SSD in it. Delivery free and trusted seller.

the G3 (same spec as this), was this price from ebuyer a year ago.

The brick in this is comparable performance to my i7 4650u in my £1300 macbook from '13. These are the best i5 mobile cpu's they've ever made so I'm not sure what you think you're on about.

i5 does not, and has never meant 4 cores.

Dual core trickery though, shouldn't even carry the i5 branding.

HP are on the BDS boycott list - no wonder they can't even give their stuff away.
Seems like a great price. They cost more on a wholesale website and that's with no vat.

Correct - but it is under £290. You get what you pay for, with SSD it is going to cost more. If you want SSD you will have to pay more, if you are happy with HDD it is a good price.

you're right - it's not apples to apples. The 14" is a full HD display, which, althought smaller, will be much more use to most people looking to actually use the laptop.

I was just providing the previous link but I get ya. I would go for it but as I've said over on the other link... £200 is a lot of cash to NOT get back! If the £200 cashback was a certainty I'd jump on it.

That's only 14", not 15.6. Better spec granted, but not really comparing apples with apples.

that is potentially, with tracking and cashback, but I think the 6200u/8GB/128GB variant pops up now and then on here for around £300
