Further details over at the Hisense site with a video showing that it is HDR despite AO saying that it isn't (HDR available through USB playback at the moment but hopefully a firmware update will come along to change the HDMI 2.0 ports to 2.0a to support full HDR functionality over HDMI).

I bought this from the Amazon Warehouse as new for £250 two days ago and I think that it is pretty good. What is annoying me at the moment is that whenever I switch on my PVR I lose the TV signal. Hopefully this is to do with the HDMI cable and I will see what happens when I replace it but everything else seems pretty cool to me.

I had it in back order from Amazon for £379 so I would have snapped it at this price.

WalkerboyUK

Not going near LG next time I buy.
Nothing but trouble with the one I have, and LG don't want to know/help.
Football is almost unwatchable on it, due to bleeding/banding.

Thought it might just be our TV, but was in John Lewis couple of weeks ago, and a 4K TV was running a demo and had the exact same problem.

14 Jul 16 1 #31
Yes it is - it was £335 when I bought it. It does the job for us at that price. It can vibrate a bit with certain frequencies of sound, but we fitted a stand which had the benefit of solving that for us. The smart features are ok too - I haven't seen many others to compare, but there's definitely room for improvement there. It's not an important feature for us anyway.

Good price, poor quality tv if you are used to a Panasonic or Samsung. I bought one a few weeks from Amazon and sent it back as I wasn't happy with it. The blacks are shadowy and grainy even on hd programs the contrast/brightness goes up and down constantly save your money and get a better quality tv.

Got a 50" hisense 4k from Amazon warehouse for £288 recently.

It has a fantastic picture, I find myself staring in amazement at the detail that it has compared to my old tv (A very nice 47" 1080p philips)

Hisense is definitely a brand worth considering
Evouk
14 Jul 16 #41
Well I can't fault the 43" version. Not sure what your on about with contrast /brightness going up and down. I have found it does need a bit of tweaking to get the best picture, but once done it's great. Viewing angles aren't the best I've found.

I'm giving a review about my experience of this exact model that's what I'm on about an if you look at the comments when this was sold through Amazon three weeks ago I'm not the 1st to notice the brightness going up and down issue. So whilst your 43" Hisense model might be good mine wasn't my 4 year old Panasonic plasma give better colour, contrast and sharpness.

Currently own a 50" 4K TV from Hisense, I was sceptical at first due to the brand (only owned Sony and Samsung tv's before) I would buy a Hisense without a second thought in the future. Brilliant TV for the money, fantastic picture quality lots of connectivity, only disappointment for me was the lack of 4K on the YouTube app.

I was a brand snob until I bought the 55 inch version of this tv.

Put an Nvidia Shield with it for 4k along with the built in Netflix and Amazon 4k apps and the quality is jaw dropping.

Special mention for the sound on this tv - its a little thicker than most tv's that you can hang on your wall which means much improved sound quality.

I got the 55inch from AO when they were giving the £50 for removing old crt's from your house a few weeks ago - worked out at £409 delivered.

You have to play with the picture settings a LOT - but its worth it - I still have a 60inch Samsung in my lounge - but I actually prefer watching this set.

Just Buy It.

Forums reckon the smart functionality is garbage and still a lot of apps not working right on it. Obviously if you have a 4K HDR source like Nvidia shield you won't have a problem. Or even the new forthcoming Xbox one S which does 4K HDR . Obviously the new Amazon 4K box is not HDR unfortunately and also make sure you have a decent HDMI cable too.

My opinion is it's not bad for £330 which is what I paid for it. YouTube displays '4K' under 4K videos but they don't play in 4K and none of the apps can be individually updated. It's running a pretty old version of iPlayer and Netflix too. Very frustrating. The contrast change whilst watching anything can be frustrating and i have found no way to turn it off. Doesn't happen during HDMI/casting videos. However, I have tried casting a few 4K demo videos and the picture quality is amazing. Xbox 360 games look good too however still haven't found a perfect picture setting. Also any changes I make revert back to the default after the I restart the T.V. Any help with this and updating the apps would be great!

Did your order come?
jockydee79

Yeah, came the Friday as promised. Nice telly. Any advance on your order?
Sora2311
7 Aug 16 #158
Nope, I asked them a few days ago and they still said they aren't getting stock until mid August. I really don't understand this, could you give me some sort of proof you ordered from AO.com and when you received your order so I can show them and ask what the hell is going on?
Sora2311
11 Aug 16 #159
Getting fed up now, I was called today saying they have no idea when they will get it in stock and to discuss options, I don't understand how you got your TV shipped so quickly when I ordered on July 17th. Really considering cancelling my order and looking to find another 4K TV.

13 Aug 16 #160
They finally have stock in and are shipping it next week  Does anybody know the best settings for the TV and if there is any input lag for gaming?
Sora2311
23 Aug 16 #161
This TV arrived on Friday and I am really happy with it but there is a few little blue lines flickering in the top left part of the screen, is this normal?

Any update on HDR?
RazorRazz
20 Sep 16 #163
Just spoke to Hisense Tech Support this afternoon and they are rolling out the UK Firmware for HDR10 over HDMI between now and the end of the 1st week of Oct. It's being done in batches, so you may get it anytime in this window.

They also recommended against installing the French Firmware, as it will disable any future OAT updates.

Will that effect Netflix, do I need a new HDMI cable for my PS4 and is HDR10 the same HDR the PS4 now uses?
RazorRazz
20 Sep 16 #165
As far as I know you just need a 4k rated HDMI 2.0 cable for this to work. I don't think Netflix supports HDR yet anyway. As far as the upcoming PS4 Pro and the XBox One S go, I think they use the HDR10 standard, which this TV is being updated to.

Not that I've noticed, has anyone had the HDR update?

Received hdr update today. Should I be seeing a noticeable difference?

Anyone know how i can update the incredibly outdated iPlayer and Netflix app, as well as add 5 on demand? Received no update at all and when i search manually it says i have the latest installed.
