Delightful ULED Back-Light

Now, HDR screens like this can channel content from studio-to-living room with the same precision and utterly otherworldly hues.
Fabulous 4K
To respond to screens getting bigger, brands have packed their screens with more pixels. This 55-inch screen has four times the number of pixels than 1080p HD TVs, delivering stunning realism, natural motion and incredible detail. Experience this high-spec picture across a range of broadcasts, movies, sports and more thanks to 4K upscaling. As it converts lower resolution content to near-4K quality, anything you watch on the big screen will be truly extraordinary.

I doubt it as TVs are usually produced for the whole European market with minor modifications for individual countries as it's far more economical. The UK is likely to carry on with most European standards to make trading easier. I also doubt we will see a reversion to imperial measurements as that'd be completely backward when (almost all) the rest of the world uses metric.

Im reading so much nonsense in this thread!!
This TV has been due out for 2 months and its finally here. The Australians already have it and all i'm reading is good things. I have ordered it from John Lewis as soon as it popped up.
The general idea of this TV is that you are getting a lot of bang for your buck. Whilst i'm sure its not a perfect TV (only the £2000+ ones are) this will be the best TV you will find in this price bracket. I'm going for this over a lower end Sony/Samsung as this will no doubt out perform them. It would be similar to their mid range TVs but a good 400/500 cheaper.
I've just got off the phone to John Lewis who have told me they have this model on display now so go and check it out!
I personally held off from the cheaper deal of the older Hisense models as this one ticked all the boxes for me.

Yes I do.
From what I've read about Hisense and what they are trying to do I feel the brand is worth investing in.
Saying that I think there is going to be a bit of a transition with 4K/HDR/8K over the next 12/24 months so if you've got a good set then I would stick it out. If you're after a new set then this is the perfect stop gap as it will last 5 years and by that poin 8k sets will be normal prices and much more 4K/8k content.

i did some research in this brand because ive never heard of them, they have produced televisions from production lines from Panasonic, Hitachi, Lucent, NEC, Sanyo, Toshiba, and Qualcomm and they bought out sharp in july 2015. They recently started making their own t.v's. under hisense. They do high end air conditioning etc but as far as television goes, for the price i would stick with sony.

The European market must be insignificantly small compared to the Great British market. I bet they started making exclusive models for Great Britain as soon as they heard we have gone North Korea on the EU. If they don't, I'm sure all those Great British manufacturers will step in. Failing that, Bozo will declare war and bomb the HiSense factories.

Thanks for the reply, in regard to the 3D element what I meant was: is there a TV with spec similar to this that also has 3D included (not 4k 3D) as my current HD TV has 3D and my son enjoys the 3D side of media.
I personally want a 4K but if I can cover all bases then it's a bonus - 4k, smart, Android, 3D and 55" which is 5" bigger than my current LG 3D smart plasma tv

Not in 4K, if that's your query: 4K doesn't support 3D at the moment, as the standard isn't quite "standard". I think it has been dropped altogether to be honest and is a legacy 1080p feature.
