I know nothing about drills, but seems a great deal?

I've got the 10.8v driver and its great for little jobs and building furniture etc. Has a decent amount of torque and for £24 an utter bargain

No carry case or hammer action according to the questions/answers on the Argos site. I can live without hammer action but no carry case will just be quite frustrating.

Seems like a decent deal considering the battery's can be used on there full range or 18v cordless power tools. Get this and just get the others when they come on offer

I have to disagree, it's a selling point for me. I've used loads of these cases over the years and the only case I've had problems with is a Bosch case for a drill and that was sturdy enough for me to rivet two toggle latch fixings to.

It may depend on use; I am a serious diy guy; are you a professional? That may explain the difference in performance /expectation.

Slightly reduced again from the deal I posted a few weeks back at £34.99 (no problem there) and it's a decent lightweight drill/driver. However, I can't find any stock and suspect there is none remaining by now (my local Homebase is showing the lower price but sold out weeks ago). Love to find out otherwise though!

I got one at the higher price of £34.99. I did search for the drill to see if it had already been posted l and saw you had posted it at a higher price over a month ago so seeing as it dropped another 6% I listed it.

At the lower price it's a steal, if there is stock left in anyone's area... they seem to have been flying off the shelves.

personally, i wouldn't waste my time this

if using as a screwdriver, don't go with anything less than an impact driver - it makes it effortless, without the drill bit slipping on the screw

if using as a drill, get a hammer drill, as you will want to drill into brick at some point

Some of the Guild gear is very good value for money!

I work for Homebase and so get to hear quite a lot of feedback.... The drills have had very positive feedback (although the 1.3AH combi-drill is a little weedy) however, some of the items like the cordless angle grinders have been returned as being unable to make it through even thin sheet material, so your money might be better spent elsewhere for these types of tools.

Stock availability on the Guild stuff seems to be rather hit-and-miss. We had a load delivered when the brand was introduced to the store a couple of months ago, and whilst some items seems to be re-stocked fairly regularly, other items, like this drill, have always been difficult to find. (this item has only been restocked once, with only around 6-8 drills being delivered).
There have been a couple of quality and control issues with the brand (grinder was discontinued for a while for an unknown reason, but we've just started to restock them again now so whatever the issue was, it has obviously been fixed now) but nothing major.... Some people have reported recalls in regards to Li-Ion batteries, but we've not had any notifications in regards to this at my store.

The Guild brand is made and supplied by Worx (make of that what you will... My personal opinion of the Worx brand is generally positive, although not comparable to the likes of Makita, Dewalt, Millwauke, Bosch blue etc.)

Got myself the twin pack with cordless hammer drill/driver and impact driver a couple of weeks ago. So far I have been very impressed! Batteries held up really well whilst building a new garden structure from scratch, and the impact driver is a beast... no idea how I've lived without that for so long!
