Use codes SUMMERHOLIDAY20 and INSTA10 to get this price. A great racing game that will take up many hours of your time.
Polyphony Digital's long-awaited PS3 exclusive mix of car racing simulation, car racing management, and arcade driving game, Gran Turismo 5 has been a long time in coming to Sony's next-generation console but it comes with a fantastic history and more than 1,000 cars.
Brand new to the franchise is car damage both cosmetic and mechanical. The latter means that if your car takes a hit then its performance will suffer. Also new is the fact that you can now flip cars when going at high speeds or when cornering badly.
Added into the game is the test track from hit BBC TV series Top Gear. This is opened up to the gamer as a series of 'special events' wherein you get to drive the same course as the show's Stig does each week - starting in a Volkswagen Camper Van.

Honestly? I loved GT5.....then found 6 a bit simple. The AI were slow and particularly dim.....which is saying something for the GT series

Yeah. Not worth bothering now that much better GT6 is cheap too.

I played gran turismo 5 alot until I got to the American series race and got stuck. I bought the digital version of gt6 for £60 but never even played it. Worst thing about digital is that u can't sell it on :o
I did the same mistake with that ps4 racing game

A great game. Absolutely no reason not to get it at this price. Yes, 6 is better in many ways but I probably have more fond memories of this one, though that could just be timing as the generation was starting to draw to a close by the time 6 landed.
Though basic I also liked the B spec mode as a chill out between races, 6 got it patched in (much) later but didn't come with it unlike 5. Also I believe 6 has no 3D TV support where as 5 does. I know 3D is all but dead but still something for those who bought into the technology and have nothing to use it with....

The soundtrack in 6 isn't a patch on 5. I think the car handling is a bit better in 6 though. Pity.

no it's actually the same. The reason why you feel the handling is better is because there is the "Skid Recovery Force" is default ON in GT6 while in GT5 is default OFF. Not many people noticed the skid recovery force setting has been changed from GT5 to GT6. It's all delusional. I only noticed this after I finished the game closed to 100%.
Skid Recovery Force:
Toggle on/off the function for beginners that stops skidding by increasing grip when the wheels start to slip.
In fact, skid recovery force is an artificial aid to the game which actually makes it less realistic.
Try turning the assist off and you'll find your car slippy as hell.
Vice versa, you can turn it on in GT5 for easier game play.

You'll probably spend the next 6 months downloading the updates before you can play it.

Wish this was for GT6. I have GT5 already and yes it is a slightly better game but 6 has it's merits.

fwiw get the academy edition which includes a chunk of the updates. Otherwise you will need to have your ps3 running for a week! many, many gb's been there, it hurts.

It comes to £2.51 with those codes not £1.39
£3.49 - 0.70 - 0.28 = £2.51
