i got this ( < link) for £120 from currys just before christmas and while i appreciate the wireless sub for 1 less cable it's actually far more than i need and i've never put it through it's paces. more than being able to recommend a single product i'd say avoid the cheap own-brand crap like goodmans and look for something over 40w (soundbar only, count sub separately if it has one) that more importantly has the inputs you need - it MUST have optical in or you are gimping the sound quality with a 3.5mm headphone jack or other analogue input, bluetooth should be expected as standard and HDMI passthrough is handy to have if you have several inputs.
my previous one was a logik soundstage and while it crapped out almost a week after it's two year warranty it was great while it lasted - any soundbar/soundstage will be better than the junk they put in tv's these days to save space but if it's not got optical in and/or is less than 40w save your money, a good sound system can always be used when you upgrade your TV and is pretty futureproof.
admittedly better than most budget tv's speakers but barely. why would you watch movies at home with this when £50-100 can get you a decent soundbar with proper connections (hdmi passthrough, optical in) and often a subwoofer rather than what is basically a very wide phone portable speaker.

I have to agree with the above - these really are poor, even at £20... Surely you can get better quality buying a set of £20 pc speakers (the connectivity is essentially the same plus you would get a sub)?

Connectivity is not the same and the look is still good, comes with a wall mount as well. Soundbar on the cheap is great for the money

I bought one of these a few weeks ago instore for £20, much better than your normal speakers on phone, tv, ipad, laptop etc + bluetooth and what do you expect for £20? some people cant be pleased expecting the world for nothing.

My TV speakers have a muffled sound when certain noises/voices reach a certain level. Would this correct this or would I have the same problem with this, as few people are saying bad quality? I don't have tv loud about 12/100 on speaker volume but still muffled

I bought this the last time it was on here and to be honest I am a bit disappointed with them, yes there is slightly more bass, but I may as well have stuck with the TV speakers.

Good find Biboboy. As not everyone is an audiophile, this is ideal to improve the quality of the tinny sounding flatscreens you can buy today. It seems this site attracts the type of person that would rather knock you down than commend you on a good find!

Yep, tried this when it was £22 at Amazon, awful quality.

While this is cheap, I like home theatre systems better as they have much higher sound output and connectivity options than these puny little speakers.
