these are amazing phones, had them for 2 or so years now, the clarity is excellent & the call blocking is brilliant - can't recommend these phones highly enough & what a bargain price, ordered another set as a reserve!

Gigaset phones are brilliant in my experience. I bought our (older) set around 7 years ago and they have been flawless. Great call quality, fantastic battery life and worked as a baby monitor too.

Thanks! Needed new home phones due to lack of answering machine and call blocking on current ones. Heat added

I'm sure I read somewhere that this model of phone only allows blocking of 15 numbers. That's handy if you're being stalked by your local rugby team, but not much use against the countless thousands of numbers used by general spam callers.
Good price for a pair of decent phones though, so migh pick up a pair to replace our old Panasonics.
Heat added.

Thanks, ordered a set. Our BT ones are making a horrible crackling noise and tbe nuisance call blocker seems ideal

Can anyone tell me what the speaker phone quality is like?

Incidentally for those that don't need two, the single handset with base station is £14.99.
Seems to be some false advertising going on here.. Which? doesn't list this phone as a Best Buy, and I've been through all the Gigaset phones, all the June 2014 articles and used search and can find no reference to this phone at all on Which?..
Other Gigaset cordless phones reviewed by Which? vary from Best Buy to Don't Buy.. Speakerphone quality on several of their phones are rated poor so not for me..
I'd ignore the RRP and not get over excited.. it's a good price but it's just a basic monochrome screen budget phone..

Is it DECT?

It seems this is not DECT. If you need a DECT phone, it's worth checking out Tesco, as they have a Panasonic triple pack for £18.50 in stores with stock. Link.

They are great for 1 reason, they have eco function, that disable all radiation when phone is not in use.
I have two sets, one is used by my parents, and both of them have -> worst sound quality than panasonic.
Speaker works well, but mic change voice slightly, so sometimes people do not recognize me

Reserved and collected on Friday, but will return tomorrow.
PROS: Big clear display, reasonable loud speaker phone, responsive buttons.
CONS: Overly-complicated interface (I'm computer literate), horrible ring tones (this is subjective), nuisance call facility is a joke (only 15 numbers), and most important for me it doesn't work with other standard DECT phones (I suspect Siemens proprietor firmware).
It is a good price if you only want a twin set without nuisance call-blocking.

I've bought a few of these (paid, & 7 day reservation window, etc), I've NOT collected them yet, but ...
Looking at the reviews on here again, is it worth it now for me to collect them? (only to perhaps end up maybe returning them back, etc?). :-(
Or ..... thanx guys. :-)

They sound perfectly useable but nothing special. A bit fiddly, mediocre speakerphone, black and white, no backlight I think but probably reliable. Gigaset is Siemens so decent make. Whether that's good for you or not is down to you really
