but then you end up with 24 doughnuts and diabetes.

13 Jul 16 4 #120
I just popped in for the following:

They give you diabetes (for some reason people think you have to eat them all, I guess they must be fat, greedy or both!)

They are overpriced

They are overrated

Tesco 12 for 99p etc are better value/tasting

I once had a KK doughnut and I found half a testicle in it

My cousins friends gardeners friends dentists daughter told me she knows someone who works there and they lick every doughnut

I'm voting cold because I'm an idiot and I don't understand what a 'deal' is and I've never posted a deal in my life either

How dare someone get a discount when I can't get one, how very dare they, soldiers/nurses/police officers are no better than meeeeee!

You can't spell

I'm going to kill you

I'm a snob and wouldn't eat this crap

Do you know how much these cost to make? It's a ripoff, we can't allow a company to make actual profit and employ people by offering a product to people that they can choose to purchase as a treat or not purchase as we live in a free democratic society

Eating doughnuts destroys rainforests

They are full of stuff! You can't eat stuff! Stuff is bad! I'm not a scientist as such but I've googled the ingredients and all those numbers must be evil surely!

My political party is better than yours (keep in mind at this point that we are STILL discussing doughnuts and in that context political views become a little weird)

This place is hilarious! I can't have any, my nearest store is 115 miles away, but I'm still voting 'hot' just because the thread is fantastic and I've enjoyed people lose the plot over a sugary treat. Bless you all you bunch of bargain hunting nutters!

Easy, any plain jam doughnut topped with sugar from the supermarkets beat these hands down. They are very artificial tasting. I am speaking after much research into the matter!

13 Jul 16 3 #33
You could have at least tried Dunkin which are also spot on but of course if you're too tight to fork out for Krispy Kreme you'll feel the same about them too.

No, they're not cheap but they leave others like them Cadbury's Caramel efforts at Tesco standing.

People too poor and/or too stingy to pay the premium quality gear costs always go with that old chestnut about something being overrated.

And eat 23, of course leave one over not to be greedy! Don't a dozen cost 12,000 pounds? Only ever had two(not dozens) are ever so nice tho, added heat for Op but not for the price of these delicious calorie bombs. Happy munching!!! :P wash down with a Golden Arch milkshake(half choc & half banana, don't ask a manager THEY SAY NO) might as well go for Gold!

Assuming you choose a pick your own dozen and pay the 79p for the original glaze dozen the cost works out at 55p each (which isn't bad) and you can't compare to supermarkets as they don't sell the same only Dunkin Donuts do.
Post a decent deal and people vote cold out of jealousy because there's too many hot votes and they can't do better. Vote cold because you don't like doughnuts, you vote on the deal and not because you dislike the taste. Petty.

It amazes me how much people are prepared to pay for a donut! I dont agree with the person that said voting cold because these are vile, far from it they are very nice, but they are only marginally better than those in the supermarket bakeries, yet krispy kreme seem to be able to sell them at 10 times the price. Selling a dozen for 79p will still cover all their costs of making them, and still give them over 100% mark up. And I think the same applies to cinema popcorn and some of the big name coffee shops too. Krispy kreme would have to be totally free to get heat from me :-/

dudedude
13 Jul 16 1 #81
Except that it's made from filthy nasty muck:

"Unfortunately Krispy Kreme do not use free range eggs at the moment, but we are looking into the possibility with our suppliers."

"We use 100% vegetable shortening in our doughnuts. This is a blend of palm and high-oleic sunflower oils."

"Krispy Kreme's responsible palm oil sourcing began in 2015 with a commitment to only source RSPO (Round Table on Sustainable Palm Oil) CSPO (Certified Sustainable Palm Oil) products for its UK locations by the end 2016. This will include the purchase of GreenPalm certificates to achieve the 100% target."

Translation: we buy palm oil (nasty) from destroyed rainforests. We are going to change something by the end of the year, maybe, but even then we are using greenwashing nonsense (GreenPalm).

Green Palm costs $3/tonne. Free range eggs are not that expensive when you are charging a quid a fricking donut.

Krispy Kreme is made of muck.

Don't let the price fool you.

I'm sure this started out as you calling me a peasant for liking Krispy Kreme, whilst you being the proud little Trotsky you are no doubt have issues with the company because of where they started out and more to the point the urban myths about it's origins.

Drop me out, the whole purpose of big business is to make big profit and though I know they don't employ the most moral ways of going about it alas it is what it is.

I'm not down with your eco fascist stance about palm oil and as someone who worked in the wholesale egg business as such for many years I know exactly what goes on there so please don't even begin to try grabbing any form of moral high ground there as it genuinely does not exist.

You're going overboard with the flattery by copy/paste mimmicking me too now.

I'm sure you internationalist right wing smashing leftist types like to consider yourselves as über intellectuals so what's gone wrong with you poppet?

This really has taken a life of it's own ever since you referred to people who like Krispy Kreme as peasants hasn't it but it's ok I'm inclusive enough to have discussions with elitist socialists :sunglasses:

What? You were the one who described cheap muck (Krispy Kreme) as 'prime fillet steak'.

Now you are saying that they are just out to make a buck.

i referred to someone who thinks KK is a premium product as a peasant because it's laughable. so far your lovely back tattoo, portraying of anyone that doesn't agree with you as a leftist trotskyist che-loving antifa, obscure references that belie the fact you struggle to see beyond your own little bubble, love of hooliganism, amiibo and gaming collectables have done nothing to undermine that impression, mr zob.

now, back in your box.

I ate them at an airport once didn't think they were premium or anything. on the contrary I tried MCD doughnut once n it was so yummy. I only got it CU's they charged me for muffin n they didn't have it so I said just give me doughnut. still never bought again.

I actually don't think this offer is that great. You're saving like £2.20 on the normal combo price. I would've thought there would be a better incentive today. Maybe on their 80th...

Who isn't out to make a QUID, think you'll find bucks is slang for another currency whose name escapes me at the moment.

As for the 'cheap muck' comment, are you trying to suggest the five for a quid you get in some scratchy gaff like Aldi or Morrisons are produced with superior ingredients?

Sorry geezer but I would stand by my steak versus pony mince any day, it's blatantly obvious from bundles of the comments here that people don't like the price they cost so they slate Krispy Kreme 'quality' out on those grounds

Not exactly "premium quality gear" then.

You see some would rather spend more on cars, laptops, phones etc. than doughnuts (which can't be described as a quality product imo, like saying the same about a certain brand of spam).

I took a screen saver of someone's profile where he/she is starting threads waffling on about politics and German footbal lads which leads to obsessive cyber stalking.

Where are these hooligan chums of mine then I wonder, where have I even suggested I'm mixing in the circles of football hooligans in Sachsen?

10 quid box of doughnuts versus a 20 grand car that will lose 5 grand after it's first circuit of the M25?

But that's still sugar. Table/refined/raw sugar is 50:50 glucose and fructose. HFCS is generally 55:45 fructose and glucose. There is no real reason to avoid one and not the other because sugar is sugar regardless of the source. We should eat all sugar in moderation like with all foods.

More info here.
