Chicken Fillet Deal , 10 kg of fresh chicken fillets for under £30 delivered.
These are halal chicken breasts and this in itself may cause debate but I am hopeful that this deal is judged on the quality of the chicken and the price rather than how the damn thing was butchered !
I am fully aware this could go either way , amazingly hot for the price or shockingly cold from all the Halal haters ........ Its on offer till the 10/7/16
Delivery same price as collection on these so don't waste your fuel !
Item is CH1306 ;)
To get delivery min order is £125 (from Manchester store) , min delivery amounts may vary - perhaps split an order with a friend ?

It's not just the slaughter method that is the issue here. I for one do not want to consume anything which has been has been subjected to a method of sacrifice over a religion. In this case halal has been sacrificed in the name of allah/Islam - something I have no belief in what so ever - so no thank you.

JJ's chilli sauce is the stuff they do in chicken shops and it's the best you can get. If you're putting an order in and like chilli sauce then go for it.

Which brand on the website is it bud? The 2 x 2.5kg tubs?
Duelling Duck
5 Jul 16#18
No the 5 litre ones for £5.49. Not sweet chilli sauce, hot.. If you like chilli and mayonnaise it's the one. You can get the Cofresh Hot Chilli Sauce in Sainsburys for £2.20 or Morrisons for £1.50 (region specific) and they're close but just not close enough - absolutely my view and your views might vary. I'm better with chilli sauces than I am with wines

TIP : If anyone is ordering chicken and intends to freeze it , it may be obvious to most people but please don't forget to wrap the chicken into suitable portions before freezing it as 2.5kg chicken is a lot to eat in one hit and I would imagine this is near on impossible to split once frozen.

i got a JJ store local to me, they have huge selection of chicken crates all from eastern europe, , they all say halal on the box but i'm not sure to the legitimacy of it. Lot of wholesalers use it. They also have lots of various lamb and beef burgers which are also cheap some containing 94% meat they are great.

5 Jul 16#32
I understand now......Its impossible to get just 10kg delivered, minimum order is £125 or you've got to collect.
Voted hot initially, but now not so sure. Good if you live local I suppose. No good for me though

5 Jul 161#33
Me too. Much better to hang them up by their legs, send them along a conveyor to get electrocuted then cut their heads off. Off to the steamer to get the feathers loosened up before they are torn out. Then gut them.
Anyone for Nut Roast?
notahappybunny15
5 Jul 16#34
Nope
Rums123
5 Jul 16#35
That's the method they use in these chickens that you get from these types of shops, tesco, asda etc, they are stunned then slaughtered. True kosher/halal meat they are slaughtered outright but that isn't legal in the UK so they are stunned slightly then slaughtered.

Christ from a UI perspective and from a user point of view, that website is absolute garbage. So cluttered and messy. Horrible thing to use, also it's not £29.99 delivered if the minimum price for postage is £125 is it?
It would also appear to the activation system is broken, received 7 emails about activation. Bloody awful. I don't even know if i'd trust this place with my order, let alone my money.
Good deal but no thanks OP.

5 Jul 162#44
It's just as easy to inject water into fresh fillets - how do you think frozen ones have added water - osmosis?
These are catering packs so will most likely have added water, they don't legally have to declare this on the label.
Got to love chicken threads to expose the nuggets on here...pun intended.

My religion specifically states that we are not to consume anything was has been sacrificed to any God, religion or idol.
Halal falls into this category. I don't believe in it yes, hence why I do not wish to promote it in any way by purchasing "non normal" meat.

It is perfectly legal to slaughter animals without stunning for religious purposes in the UK.
Are some animals not true Halal or less Halal than others because they've been stunned? If so, what does this mean?
steve_b21
5 Jul 16#51
Law states animals can be slaughtered without stunning for religious purposes only - and that it should then only be consumed by that religion. This whole halal thing is a scam!

As the post states , minimum order is £125 for delivery. There is no option to place a delivery order for anything less I'm afraid.
Collection prices are almost the same for these at the moment but usually there is around a £1 saving when collecting.
rooney10
5 Jul 161#55
I have amended the title to include the £125 min order , the post did specify min. order value of £125 though
Its still 10kg chicken fillets for £29.99 delivered but in order to get this your total minimum order needs to amount to £125.

5 Jul 16#57
And people like u fail to see the bigger picture, no morals.
rooney10
5 Jul 16#58
No morals , how do you work that one out ?
I am not for or against how they kill the chickens to be honest. After researching the various methods used my conclusion was the Halal way seemed less likely to fail and cause the animal unnecessary suffering. Slitting the animals throat is a quick process which is over in approx. 30 seconds. The same cannot be said for the shock method which often has to be repeated due to an unsuccessful stun.
You are welcome to your own opinions (and that's all they are by the way, as our mine) , that doesn't mean people like you should get to judge others if their opinions are not in keeping with yours.

will post up a picture of the chicken when it arrives tomorrow , will hopefully be able to give a review on it in the next couple of days too.
I usually buy Musclefood chicken and I find this is far superior to any supermarket chicken I have tasted so my expectations are high - if it is as good then I will have found my new supplier as we eat a lot of this and its considerably cheaper than Musclefoods current price of £4.90/kg.

Chicken looks good , no blood spots , very little fat left on to trim off (comparable with recent deliveries from Musclefood) , the fillets are huge !! averaging at around 330g each !!
Almost all of my 5kg packs comprised of 15 huge breast fillets. Label shows Kill date : 1/7/16 , use by date 14/7/16 and use within 72 hours of opening packs. I wrapped mine into portions with foil and have stored them in the freezer
Got some out for dinner this evening so I will update later with our opinions on the quality / taste
Update : Chicken tastes lovely , this is quality stuff , its not fatty or salty and I'm happy to say it isn't pumped full of water either ........ nom nom nom.
This is my new supplier , gonna save a fortune ..... happy days !!

Anyone give me a good butchers in Leeds reasonable price for fresh chicken breast please
rooney10
7 Jul 16#68
I would really question any smaller outfit that can supply chicken breast fillets (not pumped full of water) for anything less than £3 / kg. Be Careful is what I would advise.
This deal is closer to wholesale prices , hence the large minimum order. They buy in bulk and supply in large quantities with probably only a very small mark up. I'm always cautious especially when it comes to poultry

Having spoken to customer service it seems that there is no minimum order value for collection. So good for those who live close to their warehouse.
