Happened to me twice, when I was in a long queue, a bit embarrassing TBH. You can see from the reviews on the Android version that others have had loads of problems. From a major company it's unacceptable. It's also put me off going near any Burger King so it's their loss. If I thought the app would work I'd maybe consider going back.

The app crashing isn't good.
Perhaps you could test it before - on one of their other offers - to make sure it doesn't crash.

I recall the one in paddington used to be more expensive and never accepted any offers from my student days.
I'd expected the same at service stations, but the couple I've tried have accepted the App vouchers. Also Luton Airport accepted the App and printed vouchers which really surprised me.

24 Jul 161#33
Yes its a terrible App. Or atleast it was a couple of months ago when I last used it.
Crashes, taking forever to load vouchers, etc.
Most annoying thing was it would send me alert there were new vouchers, but when I opened the App to check there were no vouchers. Took me a while to figure out the alert was causing my login session to expire, but the App still thought I was logged in. Took me a while to figure out I needed to logout and back in again to retrieve the vouchers :/
Fortunately the staff seem to know the App is crap and you can just tell/show them it isn't working and they'll give you the offer anyway.

The rental at airport and railway outlets along with motorway service areas makes the charges dearer or that is theie reasoning, which doesn't explain why McD charge the same as high st for their prices.
I think Luton airport are among the cheapest for pricing which says a lot for Luton Borough Council which owns the airport, I know I always get the cheapest pint at an airport at Luton and the M&S shop is great for getting your sanwiches etc. for the flight much better quality than the economy airports.
I think I qualify to say this as I travel Europe a lot from various UK airports.
soldierboy001
25 Jul 16#63
Then go eat at home or do without, but if you insert brain and ask for one without relish then maybe you will get one without relish. OMG the thinking you have to do for some people.

I think as well as cost of premises/location it depends what the franchise will allow. McDonalds likely don't allow Franchisee's to change prices. Whereas the likes of M&S, Burger King, etc do. Ultimately places like Train stations, Airports, etc are more expensive to rent premises because you have a captive audience and high levels of footfall. I suspect even without raising prices most retailers would make money based on footfall/conversion rates. But like all businesses most will also raise prices given they have a captive audience.
Luton are beginning to take the proverbial with their parking, trolleys, etc. £1 drop off, pay for trolleys rather then deposit, expensive short term parking (which is actually in the middle of nowhere yet more expensive then parking in London and in very poor condition).
dmn001
25 Jul 16#66
went today, normal price for a whopper should be around £3.99, (and £5.69 for a whopper meal, add 40p for large). didnt really need the app open as staff knew all the offers and entered without looking at phone.

Luton airport does have free 10 minute drop off at the mid term car park follow green signs and it's £1 per minute if you over stay, dropped off passengers get on a shuttle bus every 12 minutes. Drop off at terminal building is £3 and short stay is not in the middle of nowhere but is a 3 minute walk and costs £7 for 40 minutes. This compares favorably with Alicante which gives you 15 mins drop off free and then 80p per minute over staying or across the bridge and short term parking at 40 pence for first half hour and then about 5p per 5 mins after that, so if you are waiting for a flight that is an hour late it can cost as much as £2 for parking. Oh trolleys are free but if they follow Madrids example will be 80p. All calculations are based on 1 Euro = 80p.:smirk:
Sorry I should have been clearer. When I said the parking was in the middle of nowhere I didn't mean its not next to the terminal. I was rather commenting on the geographic location and the land costs of providing parking. What I find disappointing is its more expensive then parking in London or Heathrow and the actual parking facilities are extremely poor (often waterlogged, bumps, holes, surface falling apart, crap lying around).
WRT terminal drop off I feel given the geographic location that it is disappointing they now charge. They used to accommodate it, IMO its another attempt for the worse to extract further money from users/visitors. If Heathrow can manage terminal pickup/drop off, surely Luton and other smaller airports can.
I don't use the trolleys myself (have decent wheeled luggage and tend to travel lightish anyway). I had family visiting and they told me its €2/£2. Perhaps they misunderstood and you can get the deposit returned? But it didn't look that way as from what I've seen they are dispensed by machine control.
Its still my second choice airport after LHR (which is also very near for me), but I do think they are on a mission to extract money from visitors now. (Obviously LHR charge airlines more, so flights invariably cost more).

...wow, just wow. OK, i'll explain. I was using the term 'relish' in a way in which it had not been intended, you know, for comedy purposes. Put simply:
Relish- to enjoy something (intended meaning)
Relish- a condiment used in burgers (Not the intended meaning)
Perhaps I should have added that explanation for those who havn't inserted a brain and need everything spelt out for them.
soldierboy001
26 Jul 161#71
Well if you think you are a comedian don't as they say give up the day job. It's marvelous how peoplel can change the argument so as not to make themselves look completely stupid and 100% correct and the other person a complete idiot.
I don't see anything in your first statement that differentiated anything between the meanings of relish to make the reader think you were talking about " to relish " something as apposed to putting on relish dressing, in fact you stated you would prefer to put your own relish on.
Jono310
27 Jul 16#72
Yeeees, because I had read the original post saying 'devour with relish' to imply enjoyment rather than a condiment. Oh Jeez, forget it, i'm not getting into an arguement about relish. If the use of a * :stuck_out_tongue: * emoji isn't enough to convey the tone of my original post i'll just give up commenting on stuff, life is far too short and there are far too many nice and lovely people out there in the real world to spend time with.
Enjoy your free burgers good sir, with or without relish, however you choose to order them.
