Stability and predictability are two strong points of this airframe and together with the high power brushless motor, scale 3 blade propeller and long duration ESC. It results in a great trainer and intermediate aircraft.

I bougt an RC plane once and didn't listen to common sense it was a beautiful replica wrabird first flight it soared into the air like a majestic beast and then less than 30 seconds later nosed dived into the ground snapping in half!!! Lovely looking plane but an expensive half minute.

Whilst very cheap this model is not for beginners. Do not buy unless you really know what you are doing as it will end up in pieces.

Worst buying experience of my life. don't care how cheap it is, company really try to all the tricks NOT to give you refund if undelivered or faulty. make sure it's PayPal. Otherwise you are stuffed.

My mate built an RC plane, spent ages on it, maiden flight it took off and wouldn't respond to the controls and just flew off into the distance, I still laugh at the thought.

Not really, all you have to do is press Up, Down, Left, Right, Hold A and press Start. Or is that the Sonic 1 cheat? :/

Try the super cub S, or sport cub S if you have a smaller space to fly, apprentice is good too. The SAFE system is brilliant!
I have the super cub s, only used a handful of times so far but its great fun. BNF version was £74.99 off ebay, RTF was about £115. Might add some sort of FPV system, would love dragonlink, pixhawk, larger battery with a brushless setup, might need a different platform though as no one else seems to have done it.
Don't forget some insurance if you fly it in a park or something : http://www.bmfa.org
Definitely not a beginner's aircraft. Would recommend a Bixler or similar from Hobbyking for that. Also the Apprentice mentioned above is a good call.

Now if you mean they are unreliable that's a different matter. I've flown them but for other people. Not seen a problem with them but if parts fails that's something different

Take it from me, someone who was sponsored by Ripmax at one time and flew as a display pilot for them and has competed with reasonable success at a national level these are not terrible if you have the skill. The problem with cheap is people buy what is outside their skill level as they like the look of it. It's not a great aerobatic model but for this money it can be a bit of fun in the right hands

I used to work at the head office of a company which sold them. The shear volume of complaints meant they were never ordered in again. Take it from someone with experience.

They are not terrible and EPO foam has become very popular with those in the hobby as it offers cheap models that can be ready to fly with minimal setup, they are also fairly easy to repair. Being made of foam makes no difference to how well or bad something fly's. This is an aerobatic model and you will find none of the features that make a beginners model easier to fly but this model will have a far greater aerobatic ability and may appeal to more experienced flyers looking for a cheap aerobatic model.

At the moment I am dealing with gearbest support due to a faulty item they sent. So far it has been dreadful- they close support tickets without giving a reason so I have to keep opening new ones. Luckily the item I bought was only a few quid but imagine if it was something expense?!

Quite a complex law flying RC planes. google uk fpv law
You may want to get to know it before spending money & finding you nearest permitted flying area.
It may be miles away!
Also they are not easy to fly. Join a club. Good RC controllers allow teathering, so a more experienced pilot can fly the plane if you get into trouble as you learn. Hardest part is when a plane is coming back towards you & left/right become swapped around.

These are terrible and all but uncontrollable. They are not aerodynamic and fall from the sky when the prop stops. Any RC plane worth it's money becomes at the very least a controllable glider with no prop.
Anything made of foam is designed to crash, not fly.
Don't believe me? Buy one!

So in bold letters in the title it says £64.02, when it actually isn't as it's another £20 postage (written after NOT highlighted)
So it's actually £84.62. On top of that you need a battery, battery charger, and a transmitter! So you're easily into 3 figures in reality.
Remember this before you buy

You will also need a receiver I think, which will match with your particular transmitter. In my case Spektrum, aimed at people who already have this gear for their other models. If you want one that comes with everything then you need to look for RTF - ready to fly, not PNP.
As for people talking about beginners crashing them, I've been flying them for years and I still smash them up regularly. Part of the fun.
Beginners should look at a RTF version of EFlite Apprentice, seems very popular at clubs and flatters new pilots with a get you out of trouble switch. A lot more money than this though, but worth while.
If you really want to get into model flying don't bother with this, find a club and get good advice.

Its an aerobatic model and is designed to be less stable. If your interested in model flying I strongly recommend finding your local club and going to meet them before you buy anything. You can find your local club on the BMFA website.
