these things are perfectly balanced, light and built for life. I agree that you can buy a hammer that will last for a few quid but they're not in the same ball park as these.

I'm not convinced that any hammer can beat my little stubby hammer (£2 at Amazon).
It's my favourite hammer :laughing:
Still, I've bought this as I'm tying to get a fairly decent toolbox sorted to set me up for life. I think if I get decent things they should last me well. That's the plan anyway. I seem to be doing more DIY as bits fall off, need replacing, need reinstalling, need putting up etc. in the house as for the first two years due to it being newly refurbished I didn't seem to need this stuff, or I could get away with borrowing Dad's rusty old crappy tools (he never looks after stuff so sadly it's all rusty, blunt, broken or knackered).

You can buy a decent hammer for a couple of pounds in most shops. Unless your just about to build a whole house from scratch I wouldn't bother.

Agree, had mine for 30 years, admittedly the last 10 or so I've been off the tools but still gets used now and again. It's very well balanced and great to use. & I paid £25ish those 30 years ago.

use mine almost daily at work and you will struggle to find better unless you want to spend a fortune. ........people saying 18 pounds for a hammer is a lot have no idea......yes you could buy a 2 pound jobbie but it won't last if you're using it a lot

Start hammering in nails with this you will notice the difference it puts less strain on you as the nails drive easier it's well balanced I recently used my brothers estwing for building framing for stud walls and it was like night and day compared to my cheap Stanley I can't believe I got this at this price
