I changed to a price match deal where I get 12GB data for £15 per month, saving £4 per month.

I share the account/data with my wife (she pays £12 to join my account) and although we never use more than 8gb per month (mainly her) this 12GB deal was the best £/GB ratio the day I called up. And we are both using the free Apple Music for 6 months, which saves us £15 each month that we were paying for Family Apple Music.

I wasn't interested in finding cashback this time as this whole EE+quidco experience has burnt me. Maybe next year...

I too can confirm that 7 months after taking out the deal, I've had a reply from Quidco to say they've reviewed the case and will manually cover the payment while they argue at their end. Can't argue with that as a resolution. It would have been nice to have a specific explanation of what part of the chain the issues arose, as obviously I did nothing out of the ordinary. I placed the order and it was processed and delivered. Granted the processing and delivery was slow.

Just had final confirmation from QC that my case is closed, with info that they could have only got from EE. That EE paid me when QC refused. So they're still actively looking into this! Good luck all

I'm also disappointed but they're normally pretty good to be fair. I suspect this is much more down to EE than Quidco but as above I don't see why they got involved rather than just blaming it on them.

I raised a new ticket saying:

Along with a number of other people I raised a claim for an unpaid EE contract and a member of your staff called Jack posted on the Hot UK Deals Forum to confirm that the cases were being looked into. The last message I had from you was on January 19th said:

"This is still an ongoing issue but please don't worry we are still looking into this for you, I will keep this ticket open for you and as soon as this has been resolved I will inform you."

Despite this, when I checked today the support ticket has been closed and archived without notice.

I would like an explanation for why this has happened. In acknowledging the issue on HUKD you confirmed that this is a problem that is appropriate to look into but you have now apparently decided to arbitrarily reverse your position.

2 Mar 17 #752
I didn't actually realise the ticket had been SILENTLY closed. I was sat here waiting patiently for an explanation of what happened at the start that meant my claim had been denied, in fact the last correspondance I had from Quidco on the 3rd Feb said "we will be in touch as soon as we have an update for you." Very shady to just close the support request without even telling us it had been done. Quidco certainly have not come out of this escapade looking particularly good, certainly totally non-transparent and robotically unhelpful. While it seems as thought the website doesn't let you reply to the closed support request, if you find the last email from the thread and reply to that it should be added to the ticket.

HI Jack, This morning I've chased for an update on what's going on my 'attn jack' ticket and just received what seems to be the very frustrating stock response of: " ... Do be assured that we have already gone back to the retailer to challenge this decision but unfortunately the retailer has confirmed that no cashback is payable for this transaction and we are unable to take this any further as their decision is final. I do understand this may be disappointing and we share your disappointment when something like this happens. I'm very sorry that I cannot help further. .. "

Jack, Can you please confirm publicly here if this is the final response or if someone on the front line is just unaware of your review?

Hello all,

We’re investigating this in partnership with EE and we have their assurance that all sales which meet the T&Cs will have their cashback fulfilled.

Can you please provide us with the following information via a support ticket in your Quidco account:

· Order reference – this starts ‘XKN’ and can be found on the order confirmation email
· Their account number – this can be found on the customer’s bill
· Mobile number associated with the bill – this can be found on the customer’s bill

PLEASE HEAD UP THE TICKET WITH "FAO JACK"

Regards,

This is effing farcical. It's ridiculous that I'm still fighting for my cashback when I did nothing wrong and have in fact got my fully paid contract in good standing that I'm now committed to paying, some **** middle-man-marketer has doubtless received commission for this, and I'm being shafted in the middle:

Quidco say:

and EE say:

I'm amazed and offer my sincere congratulations to those of you who managed to get your cashback from this deal, I tip my hat, because I feel like I've been stung by a total bait and switch and everyone is playing pass the hot potato. I got £78 as credit on my mobile phone account thanks to EE.

I did this by getting confirmation in writing (email) from Quidco that they 1) had the reference number of my EE order 2) were refusing to give me the cashback. Then I forwarded this email to my contact at EE (it's a challenge to find somebody that will help) who applied the credit in good faith and passed on the case to somebody else in EE to look into.

Happy Christmas!

Bit of a joke trying to resolve this. EE ask who the network are, Quidco say they won't tell me and to ask EE. Just to clarify, I in no way cancelled or changed my order, it just took EE months to deliver at no fault of mine.

18 Nov 16 #707
Yes. They're totally unhelpful. They can't even explain why. I would expect that in this day and age they could give a step by step outline of the order process and where it went wrong specific to each persons case. This is the standard they should impose on the merchant, so then at least they have the information to pass along they've just turned into a toothless agent of bait-and-switch for this EE deal. A very disappointing and frustrating experience. I bet if they asked the marketing agency who arranged the campaign if they received their commission off my sign up they'd say they did because I'm sat here using EE now, so there's no reason they should refuse to pay out.

17 Nov 16 #701
Yep, same. Tried to keep it as simple and honest as possible and got thoroughly bait-and-switched by EE and let down by Quidco who couldn't possibly be less helpful or inclined to help. Not sure why I even pay the premium membership anymore. The fact the powerless-responses can't even get a break down or proper explanation for your specific transaction reference irritates the crap out of me in this day and age. They should hold their partners to higher standards before letting people down. If they think I've in breach of a term of the deal they should be able to detail this easily enough. This deal was the only reason I switched from Virgin Media to EE, and I wouldn't do it again based on this experience. When someone says even Virgin Media did a better job than you, you know you're doing customer service SERIOUSLY wrong.

Yes I did it via chat, explained to them I only took the contract because of the cashback and I wasn't happy as there was an error when signing up meaning my order never got fully processed causing me to ring them up and invalidating the quidco cash back. It took me about an hour witht he rep going to their manager and so on, had to email the manager as well with my proof.

Almost had to cancel this. Received the email saying to call to provide info. Left it for a while. Rang up last night and rep I spoke to said he needed to do a credit check and put me on hold. When he came back he said he cancelled my original order and did a new one for no specific reason.

Instinctively, I knew I wouldn't get the quidco if this was the case. Called up today and spoke to a very helpful lady who said what the rep did yesterday was wrong, and confirmed that I wouldn't get the cashback based on what he did. Thankfully, the original online transaction was still there and she cancelled the telephone order and reinstated the online one and completed it. Just had an email now saying sim on its way. Fingers crossed it pays out eventually!

Was a bit of a wait for my number to port in, filled out the form Wednesday and didn't hear anything until this morning, but then got a text notifying me it was starting and in a half hour it was all done. Now flying solo on EE and enjoying the coverage so far, not fallen off of 4G all day, going to do some speed tests when home.

Only gripe so far is the MY EE ios app. Bit naff really, loading screen for every option, generally a bit slow and no touch ID log in. Meh. But with the allowances on the tariff I doubt I'll ever need to log in anyway.

That's exactly what I did. I find Virgin's Customer Service so bad and the constant price increases without warning so annoying that as soon as I saw this deal I jumped on it. Not off to a great start as it took nearly a month for the sim to (just) arrive but the value looks like it should be phenomenal, and the lady I spoke to on the phone felt a lot more pleasant and less condescending too.

I think taking the line rental is normal too, as soon as I got my SIM I linked up to My EE and it states my contract started 11 Aug 16 (SIM arrived 12 Aug 16) and first payment would leave my bank in about 7-10 days

No where did it say the voucher would come with the sim. Its usually 3months afterwards otherwise you could just cancel and keep the voucher

Just had a call from EE Customer Services, apparently my order isn't eligible for the Amazon Voucher, nor Quidco. According to the rep, it's only applicable to the full price contract, not the discounted one.
MetalGearAl
11 Aug 16 #640
Do the EE offer prices for existing customers apply if you are wanting to change your current plan? My contract has just ended and has rolled on, so would like to just change my existing account to SIM only.
faddy54
11 Aug 16 #639
I appreciate this has probably all been covered somewhere in this thread but does anyone have informed answers to the following, please?

1) I realise that if you apply for the Amazon voucher and Quidco you risk Quidco being rejected, but do you also risk not getting the Amazon voucher?

2) So long as you apply at the £19.99 price rather than the £16.49 existing customer price, will being an existing Orange customer stop me getting voucher or Quidco?

3) If I PAC out of Orange before applying, will that guarantee being treated as new customer?
faddy54
11 Aug 16 #638
Maybe £16.49, the existing customer price? And you'd presumably lose the voucher and/or Quidco.

11 Aug 16 #637
Something really bizarre has happened. I signed up for this deal on 30/7 but have not activated my SIM yet. I just recieved a phone call from EE saying that as I had not activated my SIM that I was eligible for moving onto a newer contract that was exactly the same usage as this deal but for £15.49 a month istead? Anyone else had this phone call.

When I spoke to them about my order that hadn't arrived in the 3 weeks since the confirmation email, one of the terms was specifically that you can swap to 'any more expensive tariff at any point during the agreement' however you can only swap to a cheaper tariff in the last 45(?) days.

faddy54
11 Aug 16 #634
Did you order it for £19.99, or the "existing user second line" price of £16.49? If £19.99 then they're talking nonsense (or EE have made a major cock-up with this offer) as the voucher offer and Quidco both specifically mention £19.99
faddy54

10 Aug 16 #625
I also received two calls from 01844 398611. Missed the first one, rang back to get stuck in a never ending EE queue. They called back about 7pm. I must admit I was initially hesitant as I thought it was a sales call, the lady on the other end didn't seem 100% certain but I was quickly transferred over to the 'quality manager' who said the orders hadn't been process because they'd been unable to do all the security checks. It didn't sound exactly genuine as there was no issue I'd seen the credit search on my file, pretty sure it was just an excuse - I'd rather it would have been honest but there you go - I had the t's and c's for the deal read to me over the phone and that was it - promised my sim, on the same order reference, in 2 days. Promised there would be no additional credit check so they had all the info. If you had the order confirmation email but are still waiting on your sim, as jonnybravoeldorado says, take the cold call from the 01844 number and they'll sort it.

For ref, the contract date doesn't start until the sim is activated they said, so we haven't missed out on three weeks of service.

So my order didn't track twice with the cashback. Anyone had their cashback track? I cancelled this and then placed an order with the amazon voucher. EE called me and said none of them had processed and they could process one for £19.99 but I asked about the voucher and she said I couldn't use it. I said ok fine make sure all orders are canceled. She says yes they are. ...now I got an email to say order is on it's way. WTF? lol
jonnybravoeldorado
9 Aug 16 #623
For those yet to hear anything regarding orders, just had EE call me from an 01844 number, apparently my number had been passed on to them to sort the order I made, she stated she believed it had been seen to already and I said the same but was still awaiting delivery. She checked on this for me and assured me it's with the courier and likely to arrive tomorrow, so huzzah.

So if you receive a call from an 01844 number unexpectedly, it's possibly EE chasing up your order! Props to EE for the service thus far despite this overwhelming popularity this deal and others have had lately.

If it's tracked already you're fine. It will only cancel if you change your mind within 14 days of reciept, or you used the amazon voucher code too and EE doesn't allow both payouts. Otherwise calling to move your order along won't affect your cashback claim!

Also, still waiting on my 2nd class snail mail that apparently was leaving Friday so I'll be calling again tomorrow if I don't see anything on the doormat after work.

Just thought I'd give a heads up for anyone wanted to upgrade to this deal...

Was told in 2 separate EE shops that this wasn't possible. I went on to the website anyway as my contract was coming to an end... had a look what offers there were (by clicking on all offers) and it wasn't there. Fair enough, I thought I'd opt for 25Gb for £25 instead.

However for some reason I clicked on edit deal or something... and suddenly the deal was available! Yes there's no cashback or voucher for upgrades but still a good deal I think.

All ordered and no problems  so it is available for upgraders, it's just hidden a bit lol.

Typically I've found that when two transactions for the same provider are done round about the same time, the second often won't track. Been with Orange now EE for many moons, 15 yr or so at a guess maybe a tad more.

First issue was a while back when in the village we moved to the signal went from bad to worse to pretty much non existent.

After much chasing and getting some regulator involved it was due to network optimisation which I guess means pulling masts down to save paying a farmer or whatever to plonk one in their field.

I had to really go at them to get a 'signal box' which has made a huge difference, they have got wi-fi calling too but in my experience it's a complete waste of time, be interested to hear if anyone has had success with it.

Some of lies of late are was offered £15 for 15gb was the match for BT offer I believe, wasn't in their log conveniently, then on email/chat they said to me one day that offer ended today, but I had been on the phone the day before and a couple before and was then getting told they never offered such a deal blah blah

One time called got offered some deal at 19.99 said it's not what I want, put me onto retenions or whoever can do a better deal and got transfered and they told me they had a great deal for me and it was 22.99....for what the same package just been offered seconds ago....wrong way round.

Called yesterday and got someone who was on another planet I just hung up in the end.

Do you rely on 4G when at locations where most likely have fibre/wi-fi?

I am with Vodafone at the moment. Contract renewal is in October. Looking at this deal as indoor 4G access at my house can be sketchy and in my Central London office, if you are not on the balcony, reception is non-existent. My main bug bear with Vodafone is errors/mistakes. They take a lot of calls to remedy especially refunds.

On the plus side, I do like that they include entertainment on their Red 4G plans and EU data roaming up to a cap is included for free e.g. with the 20GB plan which is on sale for ~£2, it includes 4GB a month of EU roaming for free. That is the bit I am torn. My work is assignment based so today's reception may not necessarily be there tomorrow

Evening all, apologies if I've missed the answer among these pages but I've been with ee/orange since time began. My contract ran out last year, ive just bought a phone from tesco which is being unlocked by them and I want to go sim only. I've only ever been in a contract so its all new to me. This deal is for cashback and a years 'contract' for just the sim with no phone is that right? or in your greater experience am I better off going to ee direct for a deal?
Thanks in advance

I had the same question, then realised that what they're saying here is that it's £16.49 but that is inclusive of a 10% discount for mutliple lines. It's incredibly sneaky and very very misleading. If I could be bothered, I'd complain to whoever the official body is for advertising standards. Also, 10% of £19.99 isn't £3.50 so I can't figure out how they get to £16.49!

Couple of questions.

The EE page says £16.49 but has an asterisk next to it, but there's no asterisk ref on the page that I can see. Any ideas?

Also it states:

Any ideas on what this means? If I'm not an existing customer then is there some 10% discount that will not apply?

Decided to upgrade for £16.49 (as I also have another phone contract) +£20 AWADDLINE20 amazon voucher. Personal preference is paying less every month than waiting for voucher. Could have done £19.99 with £70 voucher.

If you have another plan going on, you just click to upgrade the one due, pick sim only, scroll down and click "already a customer get an additional line sim" than select 16GB for £16.49 After that close the tab and go back to ee website, you'll see your basket is full. Once you get to the basket you can add the voucher. After all, you can write your number which due to upgrade for linking to the order.

In order confirmation mail they say sim will be shipped but it's incorrect. I was payg last year and did the 4GB plan for £16.99 with £40 amazon voucher, have had similar confirmation mail was saying my sim will get shipped, Instead my pagy sim automatically turned to paym in 24 hours. (Yeah, didn't even need to port out and in back.. 3rd parties can't just do it themselves for some reason)

Eventually got 2 x £40 vouchers by a mistake :sunglasses:

I spoke to a different rep and they told me that you are required to send paper bills from EE to the third party in order receive the cashback / Amazon voucher but he said that he didn't know much about it as it's all to do with the third party. I also don't think he could be bothered to do much as it was getting late in the day so likely was just appeasing me.

It seems that what you're saying is true though because I don't see anything about it on either Quidco's or EE's T&Cs.

I spoke with a representative from EE and he said that in order for Quidco or Amazon to track they require that you make your payments on time and send your paper bills into them for 6 months. He also said that in order to receive paper bills from EE you are required to sign up to receive them for 12 months at an additional cost of £3 per month.
He might be talking poppycock but if he's telling the truth then that's a real bummer.

Just to confirm for existing customers, £4 loyalty discount would not be applied as it's a discounted price.

Amazon voucher would still work if you pass the order ref. number to a customer assistant. (Best way to confirm it on live chat, place order online and pass the ref. no to live chat team)

£19.99 * 12 - £70 = £14.16 p/m (effectively) great win IMHO.

"Thanks for your message.

I'm sorry to hear that your purchase has tracked in at a lower amount, but please don't worry.

Some retailers will always track your purchase at a lower amount, and then update to the correct amount of cashback once the transaction is confirmed.

On checking the retailer's terms and conditions, I can see that this is the case for your transaction."

Incorrect. It's on their website that existing customers taking a second line get this for £16.49/month until 16/8/16. As I've got two lines, they accepted the second as my additional line and upgraded that to this offer bids retentions. The alternative was to get this via quidco as a second line with £25 cashback, and cancel your existing EE line if out of contract (would need porting your number to another payg sim then porting back to your new EE line.

I'm already with EE (two lines) and was upgraded to the additional line offer of £16.49/month rather than taking out an extra (third) line.

I'm an existing EE customer with 2 lines and one line was upgraded to the additional line offer price of £16.49/month rather than taking out an extra (third) line - they took the second line as already being my additional line. You just need to ask nicely in retentions.

I'm with EE already (out of contract) paying £15.99 month for 2GB data. I called a fee times over the last 2 days and they told me:
The Quidco deal is only for new customers, as it is a referral fee passed onto the customer from Quidco.
The Amazon voucher is only though online orders for new customers as it is a third party deal, not possible to get the voucher through the retention team.
So i told them about the offers that ID (carphone warehouse) have, namely the 'Shockproof' SIM only monthly contract (4GB £10 month) and EE counter offered me my current 2GB double speed 4G, unlimited txt/calls for £9.99 a month (12 month contract) so i took that as its less hassle than taking out another SIM only for a month then transferring my number back.

Yes, imo. The Amazon £70 voucher is guaranteed, and the cashback ~ £78 is the icing on the cake if that comes through too!. The Amazon voucher alone however makes it worth going for I think and beats any other deals currently out there (sorry its too early for me to work out the monthly cost after deducting the voucher)!

Does any one know if the 'existing customer' is defined as the point of order or whether it is the point of activation?

I've ordered this deal though I'm currently with EE and my contract ends on the 31st. I don't want to go through the headache of transferring my current number out of the network and back in later if the cashback is going to fail to pay out regardless.

Ok, this is exactly what I did....

Delete your cookies first, close your browser and reopen it.

Click on the Get Deal button above to take you to the EE site.

When it takes you to the EE page, scroll down and find the 19.99 / 16GB Tariff.

Click the Choose button next to it.

Scroll down to the "Got A Voucher Button?" prompt, and click on it
Enter the code AWSIMO70 into the box

Click Apply. The Voucher is then applied, as per the Screenshot.

Nope had it for almost 9 years now and never paid a single penny  it was one of the greatest offers ever I think! So I'm sure you can understand why I don't want to do anything to risk losing that...

(although, I actually left it at my mums when I've moved out last year as it's only for their 'basic' package which is 8Mb/s and I wanted fibre optic in my new place!)

Exactly that, briefly tried to apply a couple of nights ago, was very tired and it got late so didn;t complete it, but now I'm noticing what you've said above - can not use with any other offer. Personally I'd prefer the cashback than the amazon voucher. Also for other 'new customer contract deal' noobs like myself, make sure you have a phone capable of running 4G so you get the full benefit. Mine is an old temperamental Samsung Galaxy S3 that only has 3G.

These lot need a good shake up,.they are on a different planet!

This 16.49 is an addtional line despite clicking it as an upgrade when logged in and the reason for the price change says it includes a 10% discount, well someone can't work out percentages.

They do a bundle for 0844/5 numbers too, got passed from pillar to post, someone on here claimed it was £3, I got told £5 by one person and £6 by the next.

Thanks OP. As I'm currently on EE and not willingly to start afresh when I have Friends and Family discount, I was unable to take advantage of Quidco. 29 Jul 16 #351
Interesting...

I'm wondering if I can take advantage of this. I'm maybe in a unique position in that I signed up for broadband with Orange/EE the first month they ever done it... and therefore have been guaranteed free broadband for life.

I went back a couple of years later and they said if I 'left' Orange/EE I'd never get that deal again!

If I went to SIM only would I in effect be starting a new contract, therefore losing my broadband deal... or I can 'swap' over to it? My contract ends this September.

I am on T-mobile for 5years now with a year contract, and just now I had spoken to EE,they really disapointed me as they said their best price would be 19.99per month. and I did explained them 19.99 is the offer online, I could have 13.49if i applied online. And they said if I apply online, I will be issue with a new mobile number and I can't not keep my current phone number as for keeping the old number it could be only done via phone, that means i have to pay 19.99to keep my current phone number. They also said PAC code can't work on the same company due to i am already on TMOBILE. Is that correct? Any suggestion please? Thanks.

28 Jul 16 #331
My undertsanding is that if you are not already with EE then you should take the £19.99 deal, as a new customer, with either the £70 Amazon voucher or £78 Quidco. If you then want a second sim for your partner, presuming they are also a new customer, then you'll have the choice of either signing them up to the £19.99 deal (same as you) in their name. Or the £16.49 deal but that would have to be in your name due to it being an "additional sim" it'll be linked to your account nor theirs.

If there's something you are unsure about and the CS have failed to clarify, or a condition of the deal you feel remains unambiguous, then you are within your rights to forward EE your own set of written t&c's by which to form the contract between yoruself and them.

Detail t&c's which you feel are reasonable and also give them a reasonable time frame, such as 5 working days, to accept or decline your t&c's. State that if you don't hear back from them within the said frame then you will consider that they accept your t&c's and that the contract between the two parties will be formed based upon them. State that if they object to your t&c's then please either get in touch immediately or cancel your agreement forthwith - taking no monies greater than your current expenditure to that point.

Remember contract forming t&c's are not just a one way thing.

Just spoke to EE customer service by phone, after 12 months the price will remain at £19.99 (plus their usual price increase in March) until you upgrade or cancel. The free BT sports will be charged at £5 per month though after 6 months is up.

28 Jul 16 #326
You'll have to check the small print. I've had two T-Mobile SIMO's on the past. Both were half the regualr list price. On the first one I had to ring up every 12 months to renegotiate / threaten to cancel and on the second one I didn't it just stayed the same price.

Was told you can only get 16GB at £16.49 if you were an existing customer that was purchasing an extra sim on top of your current. So paying £19.99. Still happy with this as I've been using up 4GBs in 2 weeks. This is where 16GB isnt enough.

I am an Orange customer on a terrible deal, I actually took out a new contract with them yesterday before I knew about this and promptly cancelled. I rang up to get this but they said they couldn't do the voucher over the phone, and moreover it seems that there's no cashback for customers on EE, Orange or T mobile. So it's £19.99 a month for existing customers it would seem.

For those wondering about being existing customers, taking upgrades, and taking the voucher as well as cashback:

T&Cs from Quidco
Cashback will not be paid on 30 day rolling contracts
Cashback will not be paid on upgrades
Cashback will not be paid on sharer tariff purchases
Cashback will not be paid on existing customer sales (excluding 2nd line SIM only sales)
Cashback will only be paid per basket and not per item. A seperate transaction will be required for each purchase
Please also see the retailer's standard terms and conditions for purchase as listed on their site
Cashback will not be paid in conjunction with any other offer, voucher or discount code unless listed on this page, or with any other discounts such as staff or student discounts
Cashback may not be paid on VAT, delivery, card payment fees, taxes or any other additional charges

28 Jul 16 #305
A few people have been puzzled to be offered the "second line" reduction. I've just discovered that it depends where on the Quidco page you click through from - there are three occurrences of a clickable "£78". If you click the upper one on the left, or the one on the right, you're taken to the £19.99 offer. However if you click on the lower one on the left you're taken to the £16.49 offer "as a little thank you for taking a second plan with us". £16.49 = (£19.99 - £34.99x10%). God knows whether you'd get the advertised cashback that way.

Edit:clicking through from the "existing customer" link on TCB also takes you to the £16.49 price. Strangely enough if you select "No" to "Are you an EE, Orange or T-Mobile customer?" the price remains unchanged.
