This was an excellent purchase. Doesn't need to be "stronger suction" - don't waste your cash on a later model.
Only use it on max setting - 6 mins is a perfect dose of vacuuming for anyone. This is cheaper and less hassle than getting a cleaner.

Got a refurbished DC58 a couple of weeks back primarily for car use which it is excellent, looked brand new in original box and when registering the guarantee online it says 2 years rather than the one as described

I just received a DC59 Animal from their refurbished store and apart from the new plain box all the contents looked brand new. Not a spec of dust or mark on anything.
These items are really good buys but I suggest going for the DC59 (£159.99) over this DC35 as it has the new V6 motor and better cyclone technology along with the mini motorised tool head.

Is it a Dyson or a Hoover?

It's a Dyson Hoover. Hoover don't make Dysons...I think?

Crikey Dyson have a lot of models. Anyone able to compare the DC35, DC44, DC59, V6? And the different variants of each?

If you have OCD like me then this is the best gadget in the house. Not the V6 but still a very good price.

Not really. Dyson quality tests each returned device; any parts not up to scratch are replaced which is why they still give you a guarantee. This was confirmed by an engineer who came over to repair an old model of mine out of the 5y warranty. He also mentioned a significant number of refurbs are simply box opened vacuums that hadn't even been switched on - under EU regs you cannot stick them in a new box and sell them as new hence they go down the refurbished route.

Which presumably is why James Dyson is a billionaire.

i was dubious about cordless in terms of power and battery time but having owned one now for a few months, they're excellent. really convenient, light and versatile - goes from carpet to hard floor with no messing and doing the stairs is miles easier. as it's light and no wire, you find that you can quickly hoover up bits of the house rather than plan for a 2 hour session (not that i do either, really mind  )

Have had mine for about 7 years now, and used regularly as it's so convenient. In that time, has to get a replacement battery and brush head (due to electrical failure with it). But replacement parts (non-dyson) can be had for less than the original parts sell for. Heat added by the way.

I purchased this Dyson from the outlet and it arrived looking like new. Really happy with it.
