How can I check if GAME has it in stock in my local shop? Since it's sold out on all 3 platforms online it won't let me check on the product page anymore...

Thanks for the deal! Popped in to a Cardiff branch. Plenty in stock. Cracking price for a 'collector's edition' - but seems it's best to wait nowadays as these drop quick!

Yeah, despite originally being a PC gamer, I've always preferred a controller. Bizarrely, because it's not as accurate. I always feel like I'm cheating using a mouse. Still, a few hundred million would argue with me.
Mouse and keyboard for the amateurs I say

Why is that? the original Doom only had the keyboard for control, I prefer all FPS with a game controller anyway love those meaty triggers for shooting

I've been lucky enough to pick one up from my local but thanks anyway
If somebody would like the brand new, unopened statue I can sell it for £40 including delivery, please see the sales threads.

Yeah I'm down, how much you willing to pay for the game? £25

No dedicated strafe buttons? Are you sure? What does w and s do? Controls are normal on console
Edit saw your other response. You want it to control like doom on the ps1? That's not going to work because doom didn't have vertical movement (no aiming up and down) moving with twin sticks is so much better give it some time.

Well if you want a true Doom experience you should be playing it on a PC with a Keyboard and Mouse

Yup. I feel like the game should have strafe buttons mapped to L1/R1 or something. Moving around doesn't feel quite right, it doesn't feel like a DooM game. That's my personal opinion after 1 hour playing anyway.

I'm fairly sure one could make a decent living just buying and selling Nintendo CEs. The bog standard games of past platforms even go for ludicrous prices, some Zelda and Metroid titles for the GameCube cost as much as new releases, if not more.

These "collectors editions" really have become absolutely worthless pre-orders recently. I think the trend of every single game having an OTT special edition is coming to a slow but steady end. Game always try to get exclusivity but it never works out, you can always buy their "exclusive" SE from other, cheaper shops. I bought the Uncharted 4 one for £80 on launch and it plummeted quickly after (not at all bothered because Uncharted is one of my favourite series, I love it) and now Doom has followed the same trend, less than half price in a matter of weeks. I think truth be told, these games just aren't worth £100 each, you can only have so many pieces of cheap plastic lying around on display.

Depends on the game to be honest... A lot of manufacturers over-produce, hence why prices plummet. And then there's Nintendo who painstakingly ensure that supply is throttled, hence why Fire Emblem Fates CE goes for twice as much online.

The biggest issue is that these are collectors editions, not limited editions.
I remember back in the day a gazillion years a go, when a limited edition meant just that. It was limited. Those games from yesteryear still hold up in value. Such as my Metal Gear editions, Nintendo items etc. Today, limited means only 65,000,000,000 copies are made, so get them quick before they drop in value. It's a cash cow that sadly we have all fallen for at some point and will undoubtedly in the future. Who doesn't love a bit of shiny tat eh?

The statue is awesome. Only played the game for 1 hour so far and the lack of dedicated strafe buttons is really weird.
