Not for masonry, imo, not great, Cold. If it had been bigger and suitable for masonry it would have been fantastic, pity.

14 Jul 162#12
No drill/driver or impact driver is suitable for masonry really - not sure how that makes this a cold deal. It's a bit like saying a new compact car deal is poor because the car wouldn't be able to tow a heavy trailer well.
This is an excellent price for an excellent kit - if you have the use for it. It's not a great product for a DIY-er looking for their only drill, but that doesn't affect the fact it's brilliant for a joiner or other tradesperson looking for lightweight but very capable kit.

Didn't work for me, I tried this last month! After using the trade card it totalled the same price as instore. The receipt was weird as nothing added up correctly.
If someone else manages to get at that price, i'll be taking mine back!

You have to go to the specific TradePoint tills, not normal checkout if that helps. If you paid full price take it back to CS & they should sort it, priced at £125 instore(inc VAT), £66 on TradePoint side (£79.20 inc VAT)

I have many 18V drills, but this set is always my first choice. Very capable, controllable, small size, light, and enough grunt for 90% of jobs around the farm.

Just picked one up Purley Way Croydon, had to get from shop side as none on TradePoint side. There was only one there. Also got a free 8m Makita tape as spending over £30, leaflet was on counter but sales guy told me. Great bit of kit if you can get one, really dinky compared to my 18v Hitachi drills, going to be ideal for the smaller places. Comes in nice little bag as well. And if anybody wants to know all you do is flash your trade card for scanning & pay, so anyone can use cards. I've often lent mine out to mates. Thanks op.

these are spot on for little jobs around the house. I am builder I have the 14.v impact & drill and have no complaints as these are just used around the house.
for work I have the 18v set as my 14.4 v set don't last as that long for heavy use.
as I said these are solid build and i highly recommend.
cheap price good find have some heat

Great price picked one up yesterday. Yes like all tools they have their limits but they are a very handy set at a great price. If you go through the normal tills and then scan your trade card and it alters the price you need to speak to the BQ staff I've had it happen in the past they can override it to the correct offer price. Hope this helps some one.

It was a barcode in an email. You just need to scan your phone at the till. Another email was sent a couple of days later where you also get a free 8m makita tape measure if you spend over £30 which can also be scanned. The store I got my deal from doesn't stock the tape measure though sadly

cheers. went over to my mate when he got home at 5:30pm, picked up his card, drove over and got one. at first i got the wrong one (18v twin pack at ~£170 - there was a row of 3 in the security box, and they all looked the same), so went back over and got the right one. used a self checkout till, as there werent any other open ones (tradepoint or otherwise)
the lass there than had to authorise the card on the till, but thats all. no issues using the card at all.
strangely, as i was at my mates getting his card, he got a text message to advertise the drill as we were chatting!
also, the nottingham (netherfield) store had at least one left. possibly more (its still showing as in stock there) in case anyone else needs one.
they also had pretty much all the barbecue stuff marked down as clearance. i picked up a weber chimney starter for £12. bonus!

In our local B&Q store today marked up at £80 from today until Monday... Tried using my tradepoint card but made no difference... Importantly though the guy told me that the warranty would not be honoured if a tradepoint card was used because it is not rated for trade use!

i'm pretty sure that guy is talking crap...
plus, just because it was bought on a tradecard doesnt mean its being used at work

15 Jul 16#38
Exactly what I thought, but his manager who was behind him backed him up on it. I agree they wouldn't know if you were using it for trade use or diy except for the fact it is clearly marked on the receipt with our business details implying it was bought for trade. I opted not to use my trade card to be on the safe side. It's bang out of order if this warranty is held up.

Dewalt's warranty says it's fine for trade use, so I wouldn't worry. If they tried to refuse a warranty claim I'd bring up the fact that TradePoint sold the kit, so they must have thought it worth selling to a Tradesperson as only those in the trade qualify to make the purchase!
As the price is essentially the same this weekend whether you have a trade card or not I wouldn't mess about using the card though.
