It might be an old generation CPU but compared to a typical budget CPU that's often in new bottom of the range desktops, such as the J1900, this CPU wipes the floor, polishes the floor and puts the broom away afterwards. http://cpuboss.com/cpus/Intel-Core-i3-2120-vs-Intel-Celeron-J1900 (scroll to bottom of page)

Thanks, searched but couldn't find anything. now bought one ,cheers
Timewarp Friday Dell desktop deal - it's been a while since I found a decent Dell desktop deal and while I was perusing the usual retail outlets I stumbled across this, sure it's probably 3 to 4 years old but it's got a semi decent i3 sandy bridge CPU and for £114.95 incl delivery and 1 year warranty looked half decent for a cheapo desktop. Bung in a £25 SSD and the thing will fly*
It's not an i5 Desktop for £250 like my previous wonderful deals but hey, it's cheap and might suit someone.
*actual levitation or flight not guaranteed.

Yes, Spanner is fine, Mr Zone is my dad
If you want really cheap then the £50 HP desktop would do the job but I've found that this generation CPU might struggle with HD videos and such on youtube but everything else is usually fine. For another £25 you could install an SSD drive if you want a decent performance boost.
Mr Zone, or may I call you Spanner? Could you advise on a box for my dear old Ma; she uses an old Vista box for google, amazon etc and err, well Hearts! The reason I clicked on this link was to check out a cheap replacement box - if I go to the merchant, I notice that you can go as low as about £60 for a core2duo - this is going to do the job isn't it? And not fall foul of Google's lack of support for vista etc? Would appreciate your (or others) thoughts.... thanks

I'm not stating that it won't fit on the motherboard. But that model is a small form factor PC and only supports slim, single slot PCI cards. a typical 2 slot GPU like the 750ti simply is too large to fit inside this chassis.
Edit: After doing some brief research, you are in luck as I've found a 750ti that will fit, barely. This one to be precise, as it comes with a shorter replacement IO plate. I'd look inside the case first to ensure that there was enough breathing room for cooling though.

The specs here (http://www.cnet.com/products/acer-x2610g-ui32120w/specs/) say
1 (total) / 1 (free) x PCIe 2.0 x1
1 (total) / 1 (free) x PCIe 2.0 x16
That's enough isn't it?

That particular PC you've purchased doesn't look like it will support a dual slot expansion card. I'm sure you'll find some other use for it though :stuck_out_tongue:
Cheers for this! Ordered it and think I got the last (only?) one. Will take the fella belows advice and stick a gtx 750ti in it and make it a wee Steam box.

Good deal, but would consider the Dell T20 deal posted elsewhere on hotukdeals (~£70 after cash-back) instead. Needs a hard-drive & OS (you've saved £40 so have some spare) and CPU is marginally faster even if only a 'Pentium': http://cpuboss.com/cpus/Intel-Pentium-G3220-vs-Intel-Core-i3-2120
My work PC has the same processor, 8gb of ram and Windows 10. No problem running more demanding apps such as Photoshop.
It seems a great deal for the price, I’d add an SSD and it will certainly be a very fast desktop.

This is good for media purposes and surfing.Hot and keep up the good work. Don't you think computers are going to get cheaper over the next few weeks as at the end of this month we will lose the opportunity to upgrade to windows 10.What happens to all those unsold computers that are running windows 7and 8.Retailers might want to get rid of stock at lower prices.

You MAY want to get to MyMemory site via a £back site rather than a direct link of course!

My next choice would probably be the i3 Lenovo for £119
