used mine once since i bought it...luckily only paid about £16 via flubit and delivered by Amazon

When I was doing some research before buying one a lot of reviews pointed out that the handles brake off the device quite quickly.

I bought mine for £20 in sainsburys last Wednesday, great toastie maker. The clip that holds the handle is a little flimsy (I read reviews too) but the main issue is it doesn't fall straight when you close the lid so make sure you line the clasp up before you push the lid down

Had mine 10+ years. Used regularly (despite reports to the contrary)!
Removable plates far easier to clean.
Don't buy if you aren't going to use it though.

Why not? At £20, its not going to do anyone any harm, financial or otherwise, to have one of these sitting in the back of a kitchen cupboard, on the off-chance that they fancy a cheese toasty one day. Or maybe you could buy it as a present for someone?
