My boots were delivered today too and I concur with Biker Jeff on them being, initially, very impressive. When I've bought new Cat boots on eBay for £35-40 they've come with cosmetic scuffs or stitching issues, very much as if they were factory seconds - not so this pair.

I've compared this "Bruiser" style to the two others I have: the hard wearing best-selling "Colorado" and the more fashion conscious "Bridgeport".

If it wasn't for the wordier branding on the side of the boot and a slightly different sole pattern I wouldn't be able to tell the difference between the Bruiser and the Colorado. They're both heavy (unlike the Bridgeport which is a lighter boot) with oil resistant soles (the Bridgeport doesn't state "oil resistant" on the bottom of its sole) and both tout Goodyear Welts and Techniflex (no I have no idea what that means!) unlike the Bridgeport. The uppers look very similar on the Colorado and Bruiser, again, differing from the Bridgeport style I also have.

The only construction material difference between the Bruiser and Colorado based on the website blurb is the Colorado has a Poliyou sock lining while the Bruiser's sock lining is simply described as nylon mesh. Caterpillar Footwear's website also states the Colorado & Bridgeport retail for £10 more than the Bruiser (£115 to £105).

Tried on the boots (size 9 UK) and they're a good fit for my wide feet, very similar to the Colorados (also size 9 both described as wide which I think they almost always are?). Perhaps these Bruisers are a very slightly tighter fit but I have a hunch that's simply comparing new and old.

The quality & the sturdiness seems to be on a par with my preferred Cats, the Colorados, just as comfortable as well. Definitely seem better than the inferior Stickshifts i once bought.
Great deal at £31.50, no complaints here. Time will tell if they're as long lasting as Cat Colorados.

Same, although haven't tried cat boots for a long time, so taking your recommendation of a size 8.

Anyone asking if these are waterproof, you can treat the leather with Nikwax or something similar. Works a treat.

Always found cat boots to be well made,Timberland shoes and boots are poorly made I feel,at least in recent years anyway,just trading on a name

Yes, i think they're the best boots you can get. They last me years and i prefer them to Timberlands.
Bought some Cat Stickshift boots a few years ago and they weren't a patch on Colorados...... hence why i'm not sure whether to buy these Bruisers.

Not heard of this model of Cat boot before.... They look identical to Colorado's.
I've worn Colorado's for years, they're tough as hell and supremely comfortable..... Tempted to try these Bruisers.
