I do t think these have a viscosity. I think they are labeled as "suitable for all". Just for top up, not for a full oil change. So not a good idea to buy a load ready for a service.

Some cars will easily burn 1/2 litre of oil every 1000 miles

Our company own a few lease diesel cars & they need topping up with approx 1L of oil about twice between services.

Sadly that was the case of older cars but modern engines burn through oil like there's no tomorrow. My A6 is not considered to have an issue if it burns through a litre every 1000 miles. Only if it's less than this will Audi entertain is even being looked at.

modern engines tend to use less viscous oils, due to higher tolerances, hence burn through oil much quicker than older vehicles (especially diesel lumps.) My Honda has a sticker down by the petrol release pulley, requesting that you check oil levels every 1000 miles. And who says we are becoming more technologically advanced? ;-)

Yeah, just checked and these do not have a viscosity

Troll? Never posted a deal? Why are you posting nonsense?
With long service intervals, even a car burning 100g of oil every 2000 miles (i.e not much and definitley not knackered) might benefit from one top up between oil changes.

The spec is a bit to non-descriptive for me, but the bottle would be handy, so might just fill it with some oil from my 5ltr Mobil 1 tub.

I never need to top up between services but my car has only done 233,000 miles.

25 Jul 16#24
Very Good, but if you only do 6000 miles beteen services then thats not altogether suprising. My point was some modern cars have very long service intervals and given that all cars burn some oil (even if its only a little bit) topping up is not a function of a "knackered" engine as a fool above said.

I usually did my oil changes at 5,000 / 6,000 miles but now, due to aching bones, it was 10,000.

Yup, getting down there to drain the oil doesn't get any easier as the years roll by. Still a nice feeling though when you've done it.

Aye, at least, with fully synthetic, you can extend the intervals.
I have some fuses to replace and even that is a pain these days.
