Down from £49.99. If I didn't have enough junk at home I would have been tempted . Was in Leamington Spa, not sure if national. They had about 15 left.

I know, not everyone has the good fortune to live in Royal Leamington Spa, with its tree lined boulevards and Georgian architecture. Some people do, and I posted this deal because some of them might want to get down to their local Aldi and buy a cheap camera drone. Sorry if the deal isn't local, but it is a deal, nevertheless...

Also has a nearby Lidl (in the interest of balance) but technically that is in Warwick, the other side of the 'Aldi' roundabout. You could easily see it from Aldi, if you have a drone.

Perhaps there should be a separate listing in this forum for National vs Local deals?? I can't understand the venom directed at posters of local deals. There is a possibility, however slim, that it may benefit someone else - at least I understood that to be the whole premise behind this website!

Definitely not national, maybe select stores? Went in to Aldi in Derby and the only one they had either £69.99 or £79.99 can't remember but I know their wasn't one for £29.99 or any others.

Not bad for camera drone, worth checking out local Aldi and if not in stock then it's no big deal unless travelling miles for it and you'd be pretty desperate for one if you did, hope that makes sense? Heat added

It be for the motor or transmitter if anything. Which is 2nd is more likely to be a problem. But still, motors are not that expensive. When i got my deal and i was lucky i got 4 extra motors thrown in with peop guards and other bits include for the total i paid.
Looks like a syma x5c or a clone from the photo.
They're pretty decent as a learner quad, easy to repair. Range is about 100m, and anything more than 5mph winds and you'll be fighting it, camera is mid 2000 phone quality. Battery life around 8-10 minutes.
The hubsan x4 h107c HD is also an excellent starter quad, just avoid the new models with altitude hold. They're around £30-£40 too.
When you start flying outside, you'll soon be wanting a decent image, this means an action cam and at least a 2 axis gimbal, plus like me you'll want to be able to take it up and out without fear of losing it, so you'll want GPS with return to home. Then you'll want full FPV, 1+ mile range and 20+ minute flight times. It's a slippery slope!

If these were sold by Amazon, would they just deliver themselves?

Mate had one of them as a starter quad (without camera), they're good fun although range is very short, he's had it drop out the sky at 50m, orientation is also hard.
Bullet proof though, and managed about 30 flights before some of the coreless motors gave up the ghost.
Think it has the standard coreless 7mm motors.
Does that transmit FPV over 2.8ghz WiFi? I tried a syma x8w, lag about 1s, range of quad went from 400m to around 80m due to interference, plus image range was about 20m
Another great starter quad is the blade inductrix although it's around £50
Look up tiny whoop, looks hillarious!

For those in the know about these things. I have a Go Pro 4, and will be treking to Everest Base Camp this October for charity. I would love to take a drone along, and attach my Go Pro to capture some shots of the trek, and the team, as there are 40 of us trekking together.
Any ideas on what to go for ? Completely new to this, and will hardly use it after Everest, so not looking to spend a fortune

Your trip sounds like a once in a lifetime thing, do you really want to skimp on some lovely Everest footage by buying a Syma drone? If you've got 40 members in your team, ask them to put a tenner each towards a proper drone and then sell it on ebay once you get back. You probably won't lose more than 100 quid if you look after it.
I'd suggest a DJI Phantom 3 with camera attachment, around £450 in the UK - the 12MP still/2.7K video, F2.8 lens 3-axis gymbal-stabilised camera will give you the kind of footage your grandkids will gawp at for years to come:
C'mon man, you're going to Everest. Don't buy a ******** Syma.

Budget? You can fit a gopro to a syma x8c, but footage will be shaky without a gimbal. The x8c isn't powerful enough to lift a gopro and a gimbal.
2nd hand phantom is one option. There are lots of others, but depends on what you want to spend
I fly a Blade Chroma with gimbal, action cam and FPV with OSD system, compared to the phantom they're cheap and good fun to build, just might not be in your budget.

I would recommend a Syma x5 to start with then move up to the x8. They are cheap, easy to fly and cheap spares. The x5 can be flown indoors for the windy days. The x8 takes loads of abuse and has good range.

The quad linked to above doesn't come with the camera, despite the images giving the impression it does. Most of the toy ones use wifi cameras for FPV which are rubbish. Syma do a 5.8 FPV kit for around £40 including monitor and LP patch antenna (which isn't the best, about 200m range) that may fit this.
