Sweet, might be long queues in my closest Subway by the time I get there if they've got this on, but it doesn't matter because there's about 3 pokéstops there too

What about the 6 inch free sub... wouldn't that be a 15.24cm sandwich too if this was for the UK? :man:

should be the other way around

18 Jul 164#6
What? You'd prefer to pay full whack for a sub and get a dispensed drink free?
brainbug100
18 Jul 165#8
600ml if like me you were wondering or just over a pint

18 Jul 161#9
The dispensed drinks come free with the £3 subs anyway so this pretty much makes it half price. Heat added

our local subway only does one size of fizzy drink they used to do XL but not anymore.
I tend to get a foot long and have dinner in two sittings as it were, I think this is a great deal but maybe only for lunch or dinner for folk keeping an eye on calories.

anyone got an actual link to this promo ? not just a photo (not staying it fake btw)

18 Jul 161#18
More often than not they are store specific offers as franchises have autonomy to do their own individual promos

Just googled. Some odd stuff about places where you can play Pokemon! This is one of those times when you realise you are getting old.

Fl oz is just pure wrong, I know subway is US and imperial bla bla bla... but at least use a proper imperial measurement like a pint
Ikaros
18 Jul 161#28
If you've ever had subway vouchers before you'd notice any deal involving a drink always refers to the drink in oz

Since we started saying 'ass' and 'season' and 'take-out' and 'nukillerrr missles' which is over my dead body in my house. Until Americans start selling burgers in barm cakes they can shove it.

19 Jul 161#33
they only appreciate customers once a year??

19 Jul 162#34
You don't have to go as far as the US. I'm Lancastrian living in exile in Yorkshire and learned the hard way not to ask for a barmcake in any bakery on this side of the Pennines

19 Jul 161#35
Has anyone seen it locally then? If it's not national perhaps we can change the title to reflect this or move it to local deals.
Dodge62
19 Jul 16#36
So that would be 1.05 pints, if they're Imperial fluid ounces, or 1.09288 pints if they're US fluid ounces.
danny999
19 Jul 16#37
This will be a local store promotion only. Subway are run by local DA's who look after an area of franchisees. Individual promotions may be organised to increase business at a particular site but they are not nationwide. They all operate as individual businesses and you may notice different subways stock different items. Some DA's instruct there stores to stock carrot and others not etc...
Jesus Christ, the Fluid Oz is a British measurement. Americans use our system too although there are a few differences. 20 Fl Oz is a pint. Learn a bit more about your countries history before dismissing it as American. It's Metric which is foreign.
jai47
19 Jul 16#40
Nothing against this country or America - just saying that the marketing of the deal could be more focused to what the UK audience are used to seeing e.g. 'buy a large drink and get a free sub'
mtuk1
19 Jul 16#41
Grrr. Another one. The component of a pint is a Fluid Oz. 20 Fl Oz make a pint. An American Pint is 16 Fl Oz.
mtuk1
19 Jul 16#42
No. 90% of Subway branches are not Halal. Stop reading the Daily Mail.
mtuk1
19 Jul 16#43
It's perfectly acceptable to express something using Fl Oz's. If people are too dim not to understand that it's a British unit of measurement than that's their problem.
Lunicycle

Agree with you there been there once and never again. A classic case of brand over quality, it's not even cheap.

In other news, I also went to Subway for lunch.

Which gateshead store was this? The Jackson street store is a franchise and keeps giving out 2 for 1 vouchers because everyone is using the new store now. If it was the franchise it's probably not national.

I don't read any news papers? It said halal outside the last subways I went in! it's you who's been reading the daily mail..
senita
20 Jul 16#50
This could be true as we used to do them in uk Essex ..
mtuk1
20 Jul 16#51
There was mass hysteria last year in the Mail which tried to say all Subway branches are now Halal. It's only 10% of 2500 subway stores in areas which have lots of Muslims. The rest aren't. In fact I had a nice Flatbread which had bacon in it just this morning!!
Foodstar
21 Jul 16#52
It's available in the uk, my locals running the same deal I'll be there in the morning to collect maybe 4 subs lol

Well he was right then, lol. It was you not him that had been reading the mail. Love the irony.
Stop reading the Daily Mail, you fool! Don't you know that fluid ounces are British not American, stop saying that! And you too, are you dim or what?! You are a rather smug superior so and so aren't you. :man:
