Got 224% before, and they've obviously found some more in the stock room! Thank you original poster.
330ml Bottles . Not my fav Brewdog, currently brewing some home brew Punk, but a great way to stock up this brand.

I disagree. Marketing has a massive amount of influence. How else would the likes of fosters,Stella, kronenbourg etc still be bought by people

This stuff literally is lager, boring bland lager. It's a good price at £1'a bottle but I couldn't recommend it is a beer.

I guess you haven't tried it? Punk IPA is by far my favourite Brewdog, but to just say that this is bland and boring ......

Punk IPA used to be quite different. They changed the recipe a few years ago to make it appeal to a wider audience. It's supposed to be extremely hoppy but it no longer is. Search for Punk IPA X

Is it a kit that you're brewing or all grain?

A kit bought from the brewdog site as a B'day present. Good fun to try and recreate Punk

No amount of marketing will make a beer taste better. Not tried the lager but the Punk IPA is superb. While it isn't classed as a real ale, it is as good as any I have tasted, and I usually go for IPAs, or Golden Ales. :man:

Try life and death by vocation brewery if you like ipa .. Awesome stuff .. Tesco had it a while back in 330 cans .

Punk IPA, perfect example of style over substance. Aftertaste like battery acid, bit like most 'craft' beers, almost undrinkable

If you like Punk IPA you're unlikely to like this as its just pretty boring lager really
Tried it a few times when Spoons had it on tap and even when they were reducing it to £1.49 a pint it wasn't really worth it
I do really like citra ales with Punk ipa and Shipyard

Shipyard +1

Shipyard IPA tastes like stale vegetables in my opinion and gets really bad reviews on ratebeer. You want an IPA to be hoppy not be overpowered by foul tasting malts.

My local has just started stocking these cans. £1.79 each or 4 for £6.00. I haven't tried it though, as it's a bit pricey for my liking.
They also have 355ml cans of Brooklyn East IPA in the 4 for £6.00 offer.

Life and death is awesome and well worth £1.79 ... If you got a home bargains nearby Oakham green devil ipa 6% is £1.19 .. Well worth it

What you like is what you like, no point persuading people the beer is **** if they've clearly said they love it but BrewDog is without a doubt a ultra hipster style over substance brand.
£1 for a bottle of beer is pretty awful, even if you do want to call it a niche brand.
If it tastes unreal to you, I get it, but to the man on the street, asda are doing 24 bottles of bud for £13 and he'l tell you that's the nicest beer on the market.

There's a craft beer movement in America at the moment and they all boast FLAVOR but it's just lots of hops and citrus and overpowers the palate, personally I have one pint and that's enough. What's wrong with a bit of subtlety in the flavour. The brew dog stuff reminds me of the American craft beer + their marketing is good. To be fair I would rather drink these craft beers than the standard fosters, carling et al, but in my opinion there's much better beers out there. Personally at the moment I really like the 4 hop lager on sale in Aldi at the moment. It doesn't taste like your standard lager, more like an IPA it's really rich with a smooth honey after taste. I really recommend it.

Not so long ago you could walk into a pub and all they offered was brown ale and pissy lager and some crappy cider like strongbow and maybe if you're lucky, a porter. There's no doubt that the craft thing plays a lot on marketing but what it indicates is a shift in focus toward lots of other types of beers like fruit beers, sours, black ipas, saisons, strong ales, rye beers, wheat beers, porters etc and a good selection of each. It's particularly nice to see more focus on beers from Belgium as they make some very interesting beers, particularly the ones made by monks. This all sounds a lot different to what you're describing. And it's nice to see British breweries playing on their themes, like saison and gueuze, beers which almost disappeared 30 years ago.
To walk into a pub and see 12 beers on cask, loads of beers on keg and well stocked fridges full of bottles of beer from around the world is a joy to behold in my opinion and should be celebrated.

What's in the kit? I've got loads of equipment already, don't want to spend out on stuff I don't need!
Marvo434
3 Aug 161#39
You'd be best off going to the brewdog site and downloading, free of charge, their recipe books and buying the hops online then. The kit had a big glass jar, about 1 gallon, and loads of bits and pieces you've probably already got.
