Ordered yesterday, delivered this morning. Just put its 1st load in on Cotton - Mixed Load and it took an hour and 15 mins to dry. It took about the same time as the C rated condenser tumble dryer it has just replaced. To be fair to AO.com, they text me this morning giving a time slot and then a call from the driver 15 mins before they arrived. This was then followed up by a telephone call from AO.com to make sure I was happy with the process. For less than £300 for a Heat Pump Tumble Dryer made by Bosch (Poland) I am very happy, show me a cheaper equivalent as I couldnt find anything, this also comes with a 2 year warranty if you register.

No email from AO.com for the cashback...... Will give them one more day and then call.

Will check.my emails when I get home to see if AO have emailed the cash back form. Dryer is very good. Loaded it today with bedding and towels on the cupboard dry plus setting and it calculated 3hrs 34 mins! It then changed this after about 30 mins and the whole drying time was about 1hr 25 mins. Clothes came out as expected!!

OK, if anyone needs a faster one then you pay more money. Speed was not important to me, just low energy consumption and cost.

The reason it is this price is because it is SLOW.

The official figures in the picture in post 1 on this thread of 224 minutes cycle, and the official figure of my own drier which is for a 165 minute cycle. Both are 8Kg machines.

Don't think I would put a £100 shirt in a Tumble Dryer, but then would not spend £100 on a shirt anyway!!!
At the end of the day its a Heat Pump tumble dryer for less than £300, cant see any manufacturer cheaper than this.

What are you basing that comment on?

Its that thing you do with a hot piece of metal that stops a 100 quid shirt looking it was a charity gift to the homeless unless you have a drier.

What's ironing.........

Not a wise move, you will end up with a load of well heat-set crumpled clothes. One of the advantages of any drier is the lower creasing IF you remove it when warm and hang stuff it cuts ironing dramatically.

Still, far longer than the two heat pump driers I have owned.

Heat pumps are supposed to only add 5 minutes per kg over a modern condenser dryer.

I've had one for nearly a year, has never taken 4 hours to dry a load, keeps up happily with my large capacity washer. An advantage is it doesn't get as hot as a traditional dryer so I can even dry sports synthetics on a mixed load setting without wrecking them. Usually takes just over an hour to cupboard dry, mixed load setting with full load.

Thos annual consumption figures are based on the load setting, load weight and average annual uses.. if you cannot follow then ask you mum to help you. :smirk:

No I'm still not understanding you - if you are quoting annual consumption figures then the time it takes is irrelevant.

Time is money indeed - the longer it takes the less it costs you.

Yes i did the H and W the wrong way round, I would of thought that was obvious what i meant though.

I for one would either put this on overnight or in the morning before I went to work. But, as said above it only took an 1hr 15mins. This was not a full 8kg load though, but at least 3/4 full.

4 hours is pretty long what you gonna do with the next load of washing when the other is still drying?

Time is money friend and this takes too long....

The 4 hrs being banded around is not quite accurate and varies on the load/programme
This was taken from the spec of the dryer

Its full of assumptions, not facts. If they had so much as tried one they might have a point, clearly it is written without any experience at all.

Wild estimations such as quoting typical cost of £800 are simply not borne out by fact.

That article makes very good points, although the price they state for a heat pump dryer is much higher than this.

My 8kg John Lewis branded Aeg manufactured drier takes a max of 2 hours to dry a full load, often a fair bit less. Economical to run, just that AEG/Electrolux service are the problem if they go wrong, it took 10 weeks to get fixed!

I think if you compare the energy usage between this and a similar Bosch condenser, if you used both an average of 160 cycles per year,

A condenser drier has a cycle of about 100 minutes, with a 504 KhW, This Bosch Heat Pump is 270KhW but drying the same amount of 160 loads per year would take and additional 124 minutes, it works out to be far less economical..

So I fail to see the benefits of a heat pump, and thus this deal is like the heat pump, cold!

Well I don't care and run my condensor tumble dryer everyday. I would not waste money on this if it takes 4 hours to dry.

I have had an AEG one of these for 3 years. Incredible and very cheap to run. Never had it taken more than 2 hours to do a load. Even 8 bath towels.

I had no idea until i saw this deal that a heat pump tumble dryer even existed! I had visions of having to sink a bore hole or running a pipe to a stream for this to work.

Good price! Can be slow to do a cycle (around 4 hours) but heat pump dryers are not as power hungry as a condenser or vented dryer.
