a lot of younger gamers will never have had the delight of playing Bioshock. And to them and many more gamers a 'current' console is an xb1 or PS4. And these games are not backwards compatible. And I don't have a gaming PC so the argument that I could just upgrade the steam versions for free is purely pointless. I for one will be purchasing this and can't wait to dive back into Rapture.

I didn't think much of the second game, but with Infinite they certainly brought the girl and wiped away the debt. The first is my favourite game ever and I'm 100% excited to play the whole lot again and (shamefully) the DLCs for the first time.

There's no remastered PC version of Infinite, as it's already better on PC than it's going to be on console. You don't need the DLC to get the upgrade - http://wccftech.com/bioshock-collection-1080p60fps-free-pc-upgrade/.

Great idea - maybe I should buy a decent gaming PC for maybe £700 plus (with components that are "out of date" after a few months) so I can save £33 to play three games on a console I already own and enjoy using from the comfort of my sofa. Added bonus of course that I can liberally use the term "PC master race" and drone on about playing games on "ultra". What did I do with that credit card...

glad I got rid of both my PS4 and Xbox One.
although I will pick up another PS4 when the updated one comes to play those 2-3 titles worth my time.

Great prices for three top games. Crazy Skyrim alone cost more.

You forgot to add on the fact that once you've completed them you're stuck with them in your digital library for all eternity rather than being able to trade them in, thus negating the lower price point and making it overall better value for PC owners. But hey, at least they had some more bloom effects and have been able to play it at this graphic level for years!! :wink:

True but it is three games. If you have them for PS3 you should really get some sort of discount. Don't think I'll get them since I have all three on PS3. Yet to play them though.

So much wrong with this post... ergh. Please can we at least stop the myth about PC's being out of date in months. First off, anything in the tech world is pretty much out of date instantly if you compare it to the latest and greatest item. For PC gaming, you don't need the best GPU going, a mid range graphics card will put any console to shame and run games for as long as you need it too. My PC is now over three years old, haven't replaced a thing and it still runs most modern releases at resolutions and frame rates that your console doesn't even know exist. Also.... I can game on a comfy couch or bed if I wish.

Enjoy your console, that's fine, we all have different preferences. But don't be the kind of guy that spreads this kind of absolute drivel.

Couldn't put it better myself. Came from console to PC, but still kept my PS4. The difference really is night and day though. You wonder why they're pushing out upgraded consoles now. Maybe because 1080p is getting old, fast - worsened by the fact both consoles don't even hit 60fps at that!

Bioshock 1 and Infinite are freaking amazing (never played 2) but would still reccomend waiting for prices to fall! :wink:

Oh... and are Bioshock's 1 and 2 literally just upscaled, with no new engine or textures?!?!

If that iss true, then screw this, lol. Even as a PC player im complaining - what effect would the free update even have for us?

This is pretty much me but had to sell my PC due to a baby.

can someone please tell me if the original bioshocks are still coming to backward compatibility? its advertised as so but now with this announcement there doesn't seem much point as for myself i would rather just play these as backward compatable rather than paying thirty odd quid for same game but upscaled graphics. i understand all the dlc but i have bioshock 1 and 2 on disc and bioshock 3 was a games with gold freebie.

3 games remastered with all dlc included for all 3 great all in one :smiley:

The position isn't quite that clear-cut - for Bioshock 2, given that MInerva's Den is listed separately in the announcement, I'd read that as saying that you need to have purchased Minerva's Den to get the remastered version of that DLC for free.

As for these remasters just prove how these companies think that even three years into this gen that theres enough suckers out ther willing to pay full price. Its not like all three of these games are any good either. Bioshock 1 had great atmosphere but the gameplay has aged awfully and wasn't any good even when it released, Bioshock 2 is just mediocre and completely forgettable and Bioshock Infinite even though it had the best gameplay of the franchise just got boring as it seemed like it would never end.

Also how about you not being a complete and utter tit? You do know that consoles are essentially low or medium powered PCs in compact cases right? People know consoles aren't as powerful. People just dont care as much as PC owners think they do. Don't be that person.

Maybe because some of us have consoles also, and because we others glance over the full title and just saw Bioshock. Also, nobody here has projected any superiority. As for the person asking what the point of this is on PC due to it just being an upscale. Well Bioshock has some quirks on modern operating systems, hopefully this update will stabalise that and also make it a little prettier.

I don't really follow what you're saying here. I didn't suggest they do, in fact I went out of my way to point out that everybody has different preferences. I simply answered a myth that is brought up constantly.

Bioshock 2 for me really was just an expansion pack and should have just been dlc for the original bioshock but hey not my decision, infinite was the true bioshock 2 and the game they are working on now 'for me' will complete the trilogy :smiley: I have bought bioshock so many times it's scary (for every platform) but I'll pay again all day long.. If in 5 years they completely rebuilt the original game I'm in again and again and again! Not through stupidity but though love :wink: if them greasy swines at 2K want my money they are welcome to it..
