By the way Sainsburys are crap at updating shelf lables to show reductions so if yours is still showing full price then get CS to scan it.

Nice price and awesome tasting beer - post it as a deal - I will check mine tomorrow. Sainsburys are really poor at updating shelf labels so it is always worth checking if a deal is posted as usually it is nationwide unless it is a yellow reduced to sell sticker on the actual product.

'sale' items are underperforming lines in that specific store. Supermarkets like Sainsbury have a simple system where products must create a certain revenue per cm3 shelf space. The bottom performing lines are regularly removed from the store and replaced with items they hope will sell better. Each store is unique but often if something isn't selling well in one store it will also be doing badly in other stores. As a result you will find that some other stores will have the same item reduced but not all. The bigger the store the more likely the item will not be reduced as they have more shelf space to fill.
