Dont be silly !! Extra mature cheddar at iceland is delicious and cheaper than asda at 450g per packet, you get two of these for £3.00 Thats 900g for the same price as asda....100g more.

To produce milk from dairy cattle, all calves are separated from their mothers soon after birth and fed milk replacement in order to retain the cows' milk for human consumption. Animal welfare advocates point out that this breaks the natural bond between the mother and her calf.
Unwanted male calves are either slaughtered at birth or sent for veal production.

Not to mention the other aspects of our lives which involve cow parts in their construction:- Many medicines including Insulin for example, is produced using cow pancreas. Various sports equipment (leather), Car tires (stearic acid in production), Gelatin, Fire Extinguishers (keratin), Sugar Refining (bone char), Hydraulic brake fluid (cow fat), Explosives (glycerin), asphalt and many others that can include candles, cosmetics, crayons, perfume, mouthwash, toothpaste, shaving cream, soap and deodorants (can all contain stearic acid derived from cow fat).
Joking aside, if you don't agree with eating meat, milk, eggs, fish or any other food, then that is your choice, but the majority do not agree with you. But cows derivatives are used by nearly every human on the planet wither they know it or not.
Anyways back to the deal, stronger the cheese the better! Its a good price for strong Cheddar.

Honestly, I've been buying this for two weeks and never thought to share it on here, what a dip. They do the Red Leicester on the same deal too, made a really nice broccoli cheese with it last night.

This is the best cheese and when we go away caravanning I stock up before we go. We do like the less fat one, still extra mature and other supermarket brands come nowhere near the taste of Asda's.

Is this Extra Mature any better than the Asda Mature cheddar (ignoring that it probably has a lot more salt in it!)? I bought their Mature recently and was quite disappointed just how watery it gets when heated. The flavour is OK if you are not cooking with it but it doesn't have a great flavour or texture if you want to cook with it - especially grilled when it just becomes a liquid mess.

I'm a big cheese fan. Not a connoisseur, but I just love cheese. Any cheese. But was so disappointed with this. Just doesn't seem to pack the flavour that extra mature should. Each to their own, but only giving my opinion.
