I would be confident in saying that is just standard T&C's and I don't think it is anything to worry about. You can watch freeview channels in HD at no extra cost. Some freeview channels are not necessarily free in HD though like Film4 HD and E4 HD. (may have changed since I last looked in to this properly)

Once you add the HD subscription, everything is HD. Except further premium channels like BT Sport and others which attract a further subscription.

Hope that helps.

Interesting... My sky runs out at the end of August... Presently screwing me for £90/mth and no sports and films... Was £45.

I can give them 31 days notice as of 30th July, then potentially take this out in wifes name for £35/mth with multiscreen.

Think they will honour it?
julieallen to cfbc

They should, what do you get for £90 as thats higher than full price for the full bundle with sports and films?

Sign up with a fake name and temporary mobile number. Payment can be in your real name but needs to be different bank/card. As long as these 3 details are different to what they had on file the order will go through.

Well, it's crept-up from around £45 over the past few months whilst the offers have finished. I have two HD boxes, sky hd, no movies or sports and all others as well as sky talk and BB package.

Have left it two months at £91.50 as I was going to cancel and talk to them, but to be honest looking at this I will cancel and apply for this? (£90 includes phone and basic talk package & unlimited 38mb BB)

theres a code kicking about for half price tv, free unlimited fibre, so would be about £57 + call package but this is probably cheaper

If paying full whack for all channels and the very top end fibre (80 not 40) for th ebest part of 10 years is bad books then god knows?

Tried to do this, but it's saying "From the information provided, it appears you may already be a Sky customer, or have previously had Sky at this address." I have sky fibre, but have never had tv. The previous house owners had sky but we've been moved in for over a year now. Wanted to do this online to get quidco.

So is this exclusive to completely 'new to sky' customers?!

topcashback will likely get rejected, as you're trying to combine a voucher cloud offer with topcashback.
jaynino
16 Jul 16 #54
I'm NOT advising it of course but sky do ABSOLUTELY zero checks into the information you give them (bar if the surname has already had a sky account in the last 12 months), literally a typo in your surname could solve your problem. of course there are possibly more creative/less dodgy ways around this.

I started a similar deal last summer for £25 and received my latest bill today which was £80. I rang them up and they told me it has been a year already and i had to give 30days notice hence the 80quid bill.

I gave my 30days notice and will have to pay this bill but when it came to trying to keep me it seems like 25percent was the best they could do or if i would want to shave a few channels off but lets be honest after receiving the whole package for 12months at 25quid i feel like that would be shorthanding myself.

How long should i leave it before i attempt to get this offer in my wifes name? I am worried with the football starting back next month and my services finishing on the 20th august.

Terrible position to be in
cwilkie76
17 Jul 16 #58
It would seem if you reorder, with a typo in your surname you should have no issues, as Sky do no checks. Alternatively use her maiden name?! Should have it back on in time for the football starting up!

What's the latest set up date you can select on this? I'm on 60% off (£35 for full package) and I've still got like 3 months remaining on it. Can I keep delaying the installation until my deal runs out or is that not possible?

Sky are dogs they sent me a blank bill telling me that I owed them money ? This really puzzled me as id always had to pay in advance and there was no reason for me to owe anything. They threatened to take me to court but they couldn't exspain the so call £20 eventual bill ? And at the time I was travelling for 6 months so I couldn't find out what was going on . So basically sky used to get £80 a month but because of there greed and stupidly I no longer use there services

SKY CUSTOMERS ONLY. Ring sky and go straight through to cancellations and say you want to cancel due to financial difficulties and they will always help reduce your bill, I do this at least every 6 months and they always help. Remember DO NOT go to customer services or anything like that, go straight to the cancel package option. ~Hope this helps someone

It's about right , I left and had just family package, kept fibre and line rental , they called and offered me 12 months family package for free and also to pay my fibre and line rental for the next 2 months , I actually turned it down but should have gone for it .

The year I had it before was only £6 a month for family package which included fee box and setup , they rang on Black Friday and offered it out of the blue , I took it just for the box .

You got to learn how to play the game with SKY but at the same time be careful.

Long story short..

Moved house and was told couldn't take services with me...eventually managed to re-sign with them on a great deal

Phone - Anytime calls/Fibre/Original bundle - £29.70 plus a £100 bill credit, was already in credit with them, all great!

Then the other week I received a letter stating that my account had been transferred to the "Executive team"

Spoke to them and was told my account was being monitored as I've had a lot of unusually good deals (in their own words)

So as it stands I am a bit cautious if I have a problem/fault as they seem vague whenever I speak to this specific team.

You now only pay for sports in HD separately. The to channels are included in the family pack which is the most channels and box sets, the movies are in HD, which leaves sports at something like £6 but seems to be included in here.

Always remember no one should ever pay full price for sky, there is an old thread on misc about existing customers getting discounts, try googling hotukdeals and sky 75% if it's not in the first main page. We have been getting discounts for about 14 years now, current discounts are 50% off and £50 account credit but they do change all the time.

Cancelled my package 2 weeks ago and have been looking for cheap BT packages ever since. Just resigned up using this link in the missus name and all gone through fine i.e - Same address and landline.

For the record when I cancelled, retentions offered me 50% off for 10 months on a 12 month contract @ £79 a month and last 2 months full price @ £129 ... Half of £129 is NOT £79... That was enough for me, well that and the retention teams final words "Ok thats fine, you'll get a phone call in the next 30 days with an advisor talking you round anyway" ... Oh will I!?

But like a mug... Hook line and sinker, they got me with this deal... Or have I beat them by beating the system and signing up w/ missus name??

Just need a cracking fibre deal elsewhere to go with this now and I'm #winning...

Great price. I have the lot, which to be honest isn't cheap. It does annoy me when they do this. What can't they just fix the prices and offer competitive deals to everyone? It's not like there's much of market. We can't get Virgin cos we're not in a cable area and why would you want BT Vision, when it's only on demand? Netflix is a great price but realistically there's not much on it in the UK compared to other countries.

Compared to their standard pricing, this is a steal, but that bit in the terms about the possible price increase, that's put me off. If it was a guaranteed £30 a month for a year it's a no brainer for what you get, but with that sly bit of information they can keep it.

Hi Guys,
Our BT runs out on 14th September. I am thinking to only take this 30GBP deal and activate in 60 days. Does it mean I cannot take a deal later on Sky fibre unlimited etc to switch from BT? The way i see is there are 3 options

Option 1: Take it now with Sky fibre unlimited (57/month) and activate it in September

Option 2: Only take TV now and hope for a better sky fibre deal in September

Option 3: Take none and expect a better deal in September?

I will really appreciate your advise. Will the people with Sky booths in the arcades always give a better deal?

I cancelled my 60% off, £60 credit 2 weeks ago and the best they offered me on live chat a few days later was 50% off for 10 months and a rolling 30 day contract which i declined.
This worked for me under my wifes name, same e-mail address and same bank details..Pleased with this.
If they offer me a better deal under my existing contract (unlikely) then I have a cooling off period with the new subscription so i will just cancel before the install.

Didn't work using my wife's name and email address. Came up saying Customer Status Check saying sky is or was previously installed at the given address :disappointed:

Fibre is coming up as £10 for 6months reverting to £20 thereafter.

20 Jul 16 #137
Yes, I was just wondering if fibre would go up by september or down? Also, the store lady offered a discount on line rental. I should have gone with her proposal but i believed in Internet ...

Internet offer as of today - 57.40 for 6 months and 67.40 for next 6 with complete and sky fibre unlimited
Offer from the store - 51.40 for 6 months and 61.40 for next 6 ...30% off on line rental

I'm trying to track my order and it isn't showing. I get the message no orders to show. Is anyone else having the same problem?
