can you link to the ebay unlock?
your deal link just goes to their sim site?
You'll probably have to buy £10 top up with it though, making it £40

It's not great but then again it's only £35. I bought this recently after a bit of looking around and couldnt find anything cheaper on the high street. I'm happy with it as a temporary phone.
bought one today at local Asda, not bad for the money to be honest - screen is actually alright, quite bright.

Which do I use? The phone is asking for SIM ME lock (NP)
I have messaged the seller but asking on here as well as I need a quick reply as son is flying to Germany this afternoon!
Thanks in advance
Edit Also question re the headphones, the ones that came in the box the jack doesn't push all the way into the phone & the music is only coming out of 1 ear bud, do we have a duff phone or duff earphones? I have tried my headphones & they don't push in all the way either, can't test the sound yet as stuck on the sim unlock screen!
Edit 2. All sorted, seller very quick to respond, & headphone jack takes a final push to click in fully!

What did the eBay seller do to help you?

28 Jul 161#30
Just advised me that the NCK code was to be input when the phone asks for SIM ME lock (NP), might have been pretty obvious to some but it wasn't to me, might be that they missed the P out when they messaged me the codes! Once that had been input the phone then asks for the SP code, having not unlocked a phone before I wasn't familiar with the process.

Any recommendations on a SIM card for this for the kids just to play Pokemon.
Perfect as you don't even need to unlock the phone to use this!
Edit - actually you do need to unlock the phone, but this is a very good value sim only deal.

I don't want to be to pessimistic but a few months ago I tried to return unopened, still sealed mobile back to Argos, I didn't even get to the return's desk and the girl behind checkout shouted no refunds given on mobile phones, I told her that I phoned Argos customer service and was told I could take back to any Argos store for full refund, she just kept saying "no refunds on mobile phones" . I went home and phoned customer services they arranged for me to return to original Argos store a few days later! Which I did no questions asked! So you may have to phone customer services to specify which stores you can have a refund at!

Hi - any help with getting AR mode working? Mine says it can't detect the phone's movement, is there a phone setting for the gyro?
Thanks

Many thanks for confirming - still doesn't work on my son's phone. Can I ask a favour please?
If you go into phone settings and select "about phone", what do you see for the following values? (have added my values for info)
- model number (5010x)
- baseband version (6580)
- kernel version (3.18.19+)
- build number (01002)
Also what version number of Pokemongo are you using? Mine says 0.31.0.
Thanks in advance!

Morning.
Bit of a long shot here...
When you 1st started Pokémon GO it asks for permissions to certain areas of your phone. I'm 99% sure it asks for "Camera." If this option is "Denied" the AR mode will not function.
Giveusagooddeal
8 Aug 16#49
Thanks for the response - the camera will work within the game, so assume that my son has given persmission to it - it's just that the pokemons do not appear in the camera mode - as soon as he sees one is there, the game switches to camera mode but then says "AR mode" failed or something similar. Would you mind x referencing the specs above to advise whether your phone has the same system as mine?
Thanks again!

Picked one up in Portsmouth today. Thanks op. I'm afraid to admit same purchase reason as yourself!
Thanks for the info elmarkko. Looks like the same settings as my Son's phone. When you say the AR mode works, have you actually seen a pokemon in ar mode? When my son tries to capture a pokemon in AR mode, the game says "Were not detecting your phone's orientation.Would you like to switch off AR mode?"
I woudl assume that if your phone allows you to capture Pokemons in AR mode and we have the same version, that my phone is faulty. Can you confirm if you can actually capture Pokemons in AR mode please?
Thanks again!

Sorry for the delayed response "Giveusagooddeal" . I can unfortunately confirm that your son's phone works fine. I finally got a hold of my daughters phone to test a capture on A.R mode and after 10 seconds or so it displays the message you described. This had never presented itself as a problem as no-one here uses A.R mode.
I'll amend the main post straight away.
(If it helps, turning A.R off makes it 100% easier to capture pokémon)

Hi elmarkko, thanks for the update. At least I know it's not a problem with the phone.
The phone was still a good buy anyway, my son has realised that there are loads of android games that run really well on this phone, so he's happy!
Thanks

Can anyone help with a problem re the microphone, my son's voice cannot be heard when making calls, however when you tap your finger on the mic input on the bottom of the phone it is giving feedback to the other caller. Can't understand why I can hear the tapping but not the voice! Any ideas on getting it sorted or is it going to have to be replaced, it's only 3 months old.

Well you pays your money and takes your choice. Tesco was selling the 6" version for £70 reduced from £85, I think that offer may have passed but you should buy the best you can afford because it will have the highest resale value.
Resolution of screen is better but if you just want basic features the smaller one will probably do you.
