Received a cancellation email this morning

Just got me refund email. This company have only served themselves to look like complete and utter TW ATS, and I shall most certainly not be buying anything from them in future. If it was a PR stunt, It's gone badly wrong I'm afraid. Embarrassing to say the least.

I've managed to leave feedback now, might have just been a slight delay.

Firstly you mis-price and item, then you don't own up to it, and instead insult our intelligence with a totally transparent, untruthful excuse.

Having said that, I don't appreciate the 'spam' email I have been sent, because that email is a blatant lie.

They should have manned up and admitted a mistake (almost everything at USC mistakenly being £20), so why the unnecessary lie, in which we're pretty much being taken for fools?

I'm wondering that too... I'm sure Amazon usually only take money on dispatch, but with this being a marketplace store, then it may have been immediate, as the USC email talks about a refund... though it seems a fairly standard cut and paste job.

Seems with any sale, the payment is taken (or reserved in your bank) by Amazon, then processed/taken on dispatch and the monies then forwarded to the seller (in this case, USC).

So how USC can be 'processing refunds' is a mystery, as Amazon wont have even taken any cash from us, or forwarded any money to them yet.

If they admit it is a price mistake, seems they may have to honour the transaction if not rediculously low (£1). This is because receipt of an Order Confirmation email is a binding contract. See point 5 below.

Told them i would wait too, but no because refund is pending, except its not, they haven't even cancelled it on amazon yet.

Why dont they just say its a misprice instead of lying? No way is there a sudden shortage of sambas.

ordered at 2pm still not cancelled got reebok classics too for same price

got size 13 so maybe they dont sell as many and will honour the bigger slower selling sizes

Except it's not. This was a genuine price mistake due to an error happening somewhere within the Amazon website. Amazon doesn't even need to honour their own misprice, why would they be inclined to make up for someone else's mess up?

Had this been an Amazon item directly, then yeah you could call them out, but they have a countless number of resellers and it's near impossible to manage all them and at the same time, make up for any mistake made by the resellers.

Amazon 'may' warn or punish some resellers who repeat the same mistake, but even then, that wouldn't affect you directly, of course except maybe for less misprice occurring in the future!

That's a cop out. I purchased through Amazon's website not USC's, they should ensure their resellers have accurate stock and pricing, or else not let them use their site to sell.

Blame should hardly be put on Amazon. This wasn't their own misprice, it was one of their resellers, and they won't and shouldn't take responsibility for others mistake, even if the error origin may have occurred through a bug within the Amazon website.

It was clear this will be cancelled once I realised nearly everything by USC was priced at £20... Did warn that folks here shouldn't get their hopes up!

Looking at USC reviews on amazon, it seems people are already getting their orders cancelled

They all seem to have gone up to roughly £57 delivered now from USC on Amazon... so if this comes off... Crackin!

I have these and paid £40, I was concerned by the weight and feel of these, but have to say they have held up really well and still look smart after alot of wear.

Field and Trek (also owned by Sports Direct) also have a number of items all at £20 - looks like a glitch with the Sports Direct pages.
That said, I've ordered two different pairs of trainers and not had any cancellation emails (yet)...

Don't worry, you wouldn't get anything anyway.

Though if you're keen on losing your time, then refresh the page every once in a while and that size might magically reappear... I would not recommend doing that for obvious reasons.

Yep, most certainly a price mistake, since USC also has lower priced stuff marked up to £20.

Guess it's not worth spending hours buying many top-tier shoes and clothes since they will probably get cancelled anyway.

Check them out as there are tons of awesome stuff around there, however, it's very well possible now to have all these cancelled.

Keep checking... more sizes keep appearing, and I've just cancelled an order for size 8's in favour of size 9's which weren't available originally..

I would have preferred a size 9, as my last couple of pairs of size Adidas were 8 (a bit small) and a 9 (just right).

But the Sambas I still have are size 8s and ok, so hoping these new one will be too.

Don't ever order from the USC website. They are a nightmare if you send clothes back for a refund!! They refunded me the cost of the clothing and not the £5 postage that I paid for them to send the clothes to me initially. After a phone call it was all sorted but I wouldn't deal with them again. Through Amazon though it'd be a lot quicker and secure

worth a punt, although i will check the quality etc with the sude sambas i already own after one of those reviews...
i always have to get a half size bigger than normal with adidas, and quite often shops dont have the half sizes, but i feel the 10s are massive compared to the 9.5's (i have sude in 9.5, but black sambas in 10s, but it could be due to the niccer/softer feel of the sude blue sambas) [i'm a 9 in normal shoes, most trainers, apart from adidas/Salomon where they seem to be a small sizing]
