I bought the same item but 2017 edition (they get issued earlier every year!) in Lidl last week for £1-99-cover price £7-99. My Ford Sony fitted satnav with 2013 kept getting me lost and can't afford Ford's rob-dog prices for an updated SD card.

My most recient road map is from 1992! Could probably do with an update but even the worst phone sat navs are still better than working with paper these days. I can't work with anything that's not in Google Maps style (with sat images) anymore!

Is this the new version that doesn't even acknowledge the presence of countries just across the water in Europe?

I always set my SAT NAV to direction of travel, if only maps could do the same.

That's what's good about sat navs, you don't need a brain to use one. Then when they take you down a road/street that you don't have to go down you're not clever enough to realise it.
That's one of the reasons for some traffic jams, all the sat navs sending people exactly the same way.

Luckily for the England supporters it doesn't have any directions to France

inb4 "Why would you need one of these if you've got a satnav?"
Heat added, great for when you're out and about and you just want to see what there is to see and do in the general area on a big page.

I always have one of these as back up  no signal, no power, sat nav playing up.... and you are as lost as a conservative MP.
Providing you can use it, I worry we have a whole generation who couldn't use a road map if their life depended on it.
I used to use maps all the time to travel over the UK, had to use one the other day as I forgot the sat nav and I found my skills rusty. It's not brain surgery, but practice helps!
