This deal is based on 2 adults flying out to Barcelona from Liverpool on 11th October returning 17th October. The trip is for 6 nights and you will be staying for 3 nights in Barcelona and 3 nights in Ibiza.
This holiday is perfect for people who want to catch some of the last summer ray's and mix a city break with a beach break.
Firstly you will be staying for 3 nights in Barcelona, this beautiful city has plenty of sites and attractions to keep you entertained for the duration of your stay. If you get the weather you can also visit the cities beach!
I have chosen 2* Hotel Ciutat de Sant Adria as it is close to local transport which can have you on the centre within 10 minutes and has a private bathroom.
After spending 3 nights in Barcelona you will be hopping over on a short 1 hour flight to Ibiza to catch some rays. The weather in Ibiza in October is usually pretty nice so you can spend a few days relaxing here, or sleeping the days away and partying all night!
I have chosen the Apartamentos Mar Bella which is great reviews on TripAdvisor (4.5/5) and is located in Es Canar, a lovely little resort. It has a pool, is close to the beach and each room has a sea view.
This deal only includes hand luggage however for 6 nights of summer clothes you should be fine as you're entitled to a 10kg cabin baggage each and able to carry a handbag separately.
There are plenty of cheaper hotels especially in Barcelona as many of the hotels have shared bathrooms, if you don't mind this you can save yourself a fair bit of money.
Don't forget in Barcelona they have city tax this is usually around €1-2 pppn

The prices of hotels in Barcelona are rather high, personally I'd rather have more money to spend in the city than spend on a hotel because you're literally only there to sleep, it's personal preference but I'd rather spend less money on a nice 2* hotel than spend £60+ on a 4* hotel when I'd never even be in it to appreciate it

Why pay for a 5* hotel when you go to a nice place like Barcelona and spend most of your time outside of it enjoying the attractions?

Hotels in Barcelona aren't that expensive and as well as being 2 star this is well out of the city so you have the added expense and hassle of going into the city every day you're there. False economy IMO. I'm no snob but 2 star in a city is a real risk...

It's a lot cheaper if you fly with easyjet to BCN and stay in Barcelona or the nearby coastal resorts for the whole stay. There is so much to see in Barcelona and there are plenty of great beaches around too! There are flights for the same week from Liverpool for around £60 and the transfer could be part of the t10 transport ticket you could buy at the airport. I am at the moment in Calella which is quite a distance from Barcelona , zone4 and the t10 cost €34. It's a multi person card so for the two of us it's 5 journeys each. The airport bus (614, 603) alone costs €9.50 single ticket so it's well worth it. Also we managed to get to Montserrat monastery using only one journey each way as you can change transport up to four times within 2hours (there was an extra €10 each for the final leg of the journey, the cable car). I think the t10 card is only €10 for one zone and €20 for two zones and the allowable journey time is 1h 15min for one zone and 15 min extra for each additional zone
Montserrat is mesmerising, we managed to get there around noon which apparently is definitely not recommend due to the crowds, but actually there were hardly any people there and we didn't even have to queue to see the Black Madonna! Also for fans of Joan Miro a single entry ticket is €12 but for an annual pass it's €13 so if you wish you could visit the foundation every day
Lastly (I promise  ) on Saturday after 3pm the National art museum if free of charge and on Sunday the same goes for the Picasso museum

Great advise  these flights return from Liverpool were actually only £44 and are only £21.99 one way many days in October. I wanted to split the break up into two different holidays in one because these of the sort of trips I love to do myself

It's a great deal BlueSkies, apologies as I can see that my post didn't reflect that. I always avoid Ryanair as I fly from London and they use only Girona and Reus which are not as convenient as BCN and with the transfer fees it's often more expensive than easyjet. I love traveling holidays too, but could never have enough of Barcelona plus commuting from Calella on the train (a little over an hour) almost qualifies as travel, even though sometimes I've spend longer on the tube in London

Personally I'd get a Bonotren ticket for the Rodalies journeys (which works like a t10 but just for the trains) and use the Zone 1 T10 in the city.

It's ok  Ryanair fly into BCN from both liverpool and Manchester so it's nice and easy for us northerners  I always come off my holidays needing a holiday :P I've done transferring from Reus and Girona and it is far from Barcelona, I can't believe they even class those airports as part of Barcelona to be honest!

Actually Calella is zone 5 on the ROdalies map and the Bonotren is only €0.95 cheaper. For us the integrated t10 is much better value as we always start the day with a visit to the Miro Foundation and at 1h 30min away it is only one journey. For the rest of the travel within the city we did get a separate t10 for zone one only, that's great advice
Thank you for the ice cream suggestion
