2012 is an apocalyptic film based on the Mayan prophecy. It's a pretty dumb action adventure with a plot that makes little sense, especially towards the end, and pretty unlikely scenarios for the main character. Imagine The Day After Tomorrow but written by monkeys.

Made by Roland Emmerich who recently stated Marvel films are not realistic (well duh, comics) while having made 2012, Independence Day, Godzilla and the Day after Tomorrow.

Yes, worth it for District 9, the others... not so much, although they're watchable.
