Pack of 10 gu10 dimmable down lights on offer at asda. Great price for these especially considering they are dimmable when most aren't.

these bulbs are terrible they say on even when switched off with a dimmer and they flicker!

You'll find that's not the bulbs its your dinner, try leaving one normal gu10 halogen bulb in, you'll find they work perfect, this is due to the dimmer allowing just a little bit of current through, not enough to bother halogen but the LEDs will flicker and not turn off.

I just bought a pack of these from the Corby store, there were quite a number in stock. These are really good value and will come in handy. Heat added.

Bought two packs on on Monday in Hunts Cross Branch, bought at £20 a few months ago and are excellent dimmable bulbs that are more towards white light than warm light.
The lights bought previous stated warm white as are the ones bought on Monday.
Using Varilight dimmer in living room with these bulbs and can go from very dim to full on with six lights with no flicker. http://www.screwfix.com/p/varilight-led-dimmer-switch-1g-1-2-way-400w-ice-white/4419f

That dimmer switch would work fine with LEDs. The last time I bought some trailing edge dimmer switches from Screwfix they were £9.95, but I see the same model is now £13.50, so perhaps it was a promotion at the time. The cost of changing to dimmable LEDs and a new switch (if one has a GU10 array) is now such that one would very soon recoup the capital outlay from savings on the electricity bill.

Breck road still has lots of them. None left in smithdown or penny lane.

Great Stuff. Just bought 4 boxes (last 2) on lanky hill, Stockport & then down to main big store in Stockport they had 9 boxes left, however I had picked box of the white LED ones & it still priced at £7.99 at self service checkout even though it does state £15 on shelf

If swapping out dimming halogens, check your switch. You may need to swap if it isn't trailing edge or they'll flicker. T-edge switches are also more expensive.

Dimmable LED luminares will almost always need the switch changed to the trailing edge type because the minimum power output from the leading edge type will be greater than the total requirement for the LEDs (unless one has a very large array of LED luminares). Trailing edge dimmer switches are not particularly more expensive than the leading edge type (they are both about £10, maybe a bit less), they just have different characteristics (and would be no good for controlling a ceiling fan for example).
It is a simple job to change the dimmer switches though, and it is not notifiable work.

Good price if this is a national deal. These are about £14 for a box of 5 or 6 GU10s at Screwfix.

Any cool white on offer ?
Just prefer the white light they give off rather than the yellow light from the warm white lamps.
Great deal for the price

See OP? Not everybody can see the photo on your deal so easily, so maybe I don't need a trip to Specsavers after all.

Bought some of these 2 years ago (they were also discounted to £7.50)... used daily, all still going strong.. not a single one failed.
Edit: Sunday 10th July
As I was doing shopping in my local ASDA today (Bolton - Astley Bridge)... decided to check on these...
Bought myself one box. £15.00 on the shelf but scanning at £7.50 as expected.
There was maybe 6 more boxes on the shelf at 4:50PM
