choose the 39.99 upfront on the 15 tariff 6x24 is 144 add 39.99 = £183.99 soon as it comes request unlock pay of device plan which is 144 and that's it not bad for a brand new z3 plus with snapdragon 810 3gb ram waterproof 5.2" 1080p screen 20mp camera

is it £15 x 24 months?
how do you get £6 x 24?
hiphophustler
4 Jun 16#3
u only pay the device plan figure which is 6x24 which is 144 plus 39.99 u have to pay this as soon as u receive phone request unlock pay off device plan that's it u don't pay the airtime u cancel that immediately

according to xda
According to folks at XDA forum, who flashed the Marshmallow update via Sony flashtool, the firmware is quite smooth and without any lag. Besides, there are no heating issues. The AnTuTu benchmark score on Marshmallow is over 80K, which is more than when the phone was running on Lollipop, at 71k.

I have 2 phones from O2, both bootloaders are locked.
I think the bootloader of this Z3+ is also locked, so no flashing of ROM ... even the ROM from Sony.
So unlock pay of device plan gets the phone unlocked and the air plan cancelled ?
Never used o2 refresh but this is ideal.
MadeDixonsCry
4 Jun 16#17
Well that's a turn off for me. You're lucky if the manufacturers can be bothered updating their phone software to match the latest android update, and with locked bootloaders you are at the mercy of whether phone networks can be bothered deciding whether that update is good enough for their tastes to be released.
hiphophustler
4 Jun 16#18
You can flash the phone with the official ftf file I've just done it to a z3 compact tablet it doesn't matter about bootloader to flash original software easy to do
hiphophustler
4 Jun 16#19
Yes unlock in my O2 and then ring up pay of device cancel airtime immediately u may get a bill for about a pound if that cancel dd straight away as some people have been known to be charged I've never been charged as cancelled dd and get a bill within 14 days to pay the odd few pence done it 15 odd times never had a problem

£115 from Amazon Warehouse and just got updated to Marshmallow yesterday and no issues yet.

Does this still have the overheating issues with the Snapdragon 810? Seem to be conflicting reports as to whether the Sony Update actually fixed the overheating issues.

Well as above according to the xda forums the over heating has been solved for that price it's a bargain best spec phone for the price

I was going to buy the Z3 (D6603) to flash the Sony's Android N but according to Sony's Xperia site you can't do it if the loader was locked by the Telco.
If your bootloader was locked by Sony then it'll be ok to flash Sony's ROM but not 3rd party ROM.
hiphophustler
4 Jun 16#27
Yes u can flash original software by Sony nps to debrand all the O2 bloat

4 Jun 16#32
Do you need to activate the O2 sim before requesting an unlock.
dcx_badass
4 Jun 16#33
I'd have got this if it wasn't for the locked bootloader, shame. I don't know why Sony do this, Samsung et al don't do this in Europe so why do Sony. I've read if you get the phone sim unlocked then Sony will make the bootloader unlockable if you send the phone to them. But I've not seen a direct UK confirmation.

4 Jun 16#34
right so you need to be on o2 refresh before hand, how would or could I work it out without?
and how long does the stock usually last with these things, cheers guys.
hiphophustler
5 Jun 16#35
I find the easiest thing to do is put sim in phone turn phone on log into my O2 then press on number down in right hand corner will say request unlock check imei is correct request it ring up pay 144 off then that's it u can even request it on phone the unlock code tell them to cancel airtime immediately as your in the 14 day period they will generate a bill for say 50p to a pound pay that in 14 days time that's it unlock usually is given within 72 hours and why do people keep going on about bootloader u can flash sim free software to these sonys easy within like 10 minutes so easy once u have a read on Google
dcx_badass
5 Jun 16#36
You can flash official Sony Firmware easily but once Sony abandon it, no more updates to new Android versions if your bootloader is locked.

5 Jun 16#37
I'd also like to know the answer to this one
hiphophustler
5 Jun 16#38
Yes but they usually support it for around 3 years by then your have a new phone so why worry
dcx_badass
5 Jun 16#39
Are you a new Sony user, they're as bad as Samsung, will just drop support at a drop of a hat. They go through phases of good support, currently they're doing well, but they've done it before in the past, give it a few months and they'll probably go back to abandoning a wide range of devices completely.
hiphophustler
5 Jun 16#40
Well they don't usually abandon support on the z series usually on the other ones they do
Xeijin
5 Jun 16#41
Sorry, missed that. Do you have a link to the original thread on xda-developers so I can have a read?
Also have you got the phone? What's your personal experience with the battery-life?

Thanks. Mine has just auto updated to marshmallow. In the box was a usb micro to usb female. what is this? Otg cable? Also, do i need a special charger to take advantage of the fast charge capability?
Thanks

The USB micro to USB female allows you to connect the z3+ to your old phone for the Sony transfer app to transfer your music , contacts etc.....

You can pay for the phone upfront when you buy it. £192. Then all you have to do is cancel the airtime saying you'll be better off pay as u go. Less dodgy this way.

Do you ask for unlock code before you cancel the contract?
Do they charge for unlocking and how long is the wait for the unlock code?
Do you request for unlock code and cancel the contract in the same phone call to the person.
When you cancel the contract do they not charge you for the first month?
Thanks
hiphophustler
9 Jun 16#58
U ask for contract before u paid it off and fill In form online it's free of charge of course and usually takes less than 72 hours on most occasions but can take up to 7 days most people get within 24 hours tho

To those that now have this phone, what do you think of it. Does it overheat as much as it has been documented online (or was that just an early batch?).
Feeling a need to upgrade from my LG G2 for something with a top good camera and expandable storage (although I would take the S6 or Nexus 6p but they are still a bit dear in price!) - Trying to decide between this and the LG G4.

1. Not a dual sim, model E6553 but dual sim's E6533
2. Terrible overheating, really hot when updating the software
3. after updated to android 6.0.1, it's not getting any better. Very hot when browsing bbc.co.uk on chrome, didn't play game or anything consuming the cpu, so there's no app shut down.
4. asked for the return already
