This is the complete collection of the classic X-COM games, designed by the legendary Gollop brothers.
Five games, as follows:
X-COM: UFO Defense (aka X-COM: Enemy Unknown)
X-COM: Terror From the Deep
X-COM: Apocalypse
X-COM: Enforcer
X-COM: Interceptor
UFO Defence was a phenomenal game, at the time. Looks a bit dated now, but still stands up well.
Terror From The Deep was a very good game, but I felt it was just UFO Defence with a new skin - exact same game but set underwater.
I've not played the other three.
If you just want one (or two) of them, they're each reduced to only £0.79
UFO Defence is a 6.8Mb download. You probably have enough HDD space for that... ;)
The complete pack comes in at just under 1.5Gb.

Lords of Chaos was my fave Gollop game. Classic. Still plays well on my iPad specie emulator.

Did you know Chaos (the predecessor of Lords of Chaos) was recently remade?
I was going to suggest Open X-COM but seemingly you need files from original so would have to 'buy' it anyway.

Good memories, I remember hex editing the save files to change the base configs and stores..... happy days. UFO: Enemy unknown is still a brilliant game.

Plus, would these run on Ubuntu (linux)?

Nowt wrong with gaming at your age, youngster :stuck_out_tongue:
I confirm it doesn't include the two new games. Damn but that'd be a bargain! Xcom 2 is around £20.
Xcom appears to be on offer for £3.74 on Steam, though (75% off) and is a fantastic game.
I know nothing about linux, sorry.

Ha ha. I've been playing video games since the days of the Amiga and Atari ST and I'm not embarrassed to admit that I am now into my fifties and still play fairly regularly so there is no age rule to playing video games. I suspect that trend will continue and even become the norm in future as the younger generation who have grown up in the age of Gamecubes, Wii's, Playstations, X-boxes and 3DS's grow older. If you enjoy doing something, age should not be a barrier. Right, I'm off to find my pipe and slippers, have a nap and then play COD multiplayer.
IMO the original version of UFO Defence is superior in many ways to the newer recent Xcom version.OK, the graphics are basic, but the gameplay is solid and complex. These days its runs on the lowest available spec PC and gives hours of entertainment. Hot and cheap!

Id love to see an update of Rebelstar Raiders, Rebelstar 1&2 and Laser Squad too! Played them since the very beginning...back in....the 80s (Partridge voice).
Terror from The Deep is much harder than Unknown so beware! As for the other three games, well they don't really belong.

I'm a big fan of Terror From The Deep. Obviously for the most part a re-skin of the original but the underwater theme is very cool plus they added the drill HtH weapons. Awesome.

Absolutely - TftD was my first X-COM and I still have a fondness for it.

The first two games (UFO and Terror) are, arguably, the best turn based strategy games of all time.
Just buy them

Fantastic games. Have some heat.
If anyone is interested, these should run OK through an emulator (wine) on Linux.

I loved X-COM: Apocalypse at the time. still play it now and again. Not as dated as the others due to its slightly higher-res pixels. Well worth it.
