I spent a summer in North Cornwall not too far from the sea, working and hanging out in the early 70's.
It was a bit before decimalisation about '72 .
Scrumpy on draught was a shilling a pint (5p) . Usually we would mix it half rough and half sweet in a pint for palatability and because after 2 pints of scrumpy they would not usually serve you a third.
You could go to the farms where it was a good bit cheaper by buying in bulk.
I suppose 5p is not worth much now but you couldn't an awful for a shilling in the early 70's.
Edit: Just finished the 5th bottle from original purchase, glad I have 2 more ............ I shouldn't really.
Had 5 or 6 dozen left on the floor , I hope there are some left tomorrow ............. as I said I'm a beer drinker ...... but I'm partial to a good cider now and again especially when it is this sort of value.

Just to add that it's a great cider - Buy British !! :man: When we make something this good I can't understand why so many places are serving the Stella Cidre mentioned above or Rekorderlig :disappointed:
If you are ever in Herefordshire the Westons Cider Mill is well worth a visit but I doubt you'll get it for 60p a bottle even in the factory shop !! Great deal - thanks !

Nice one fitzycat - only slightly more expensive than the usual lunch time meal deals in Tesco but the calcium content is better and the afternoon will just fly by !

If only I was allowed to do such things, but maybe its just as well .... keeps the liver happy.
I did manage to sneak a couple more though along with the milk and chocs.
Great cider and great deal but these alcohol deals are never in my local stores, maybe we drink too much in these parts. Heat added for the deal though.

Is this the vintage one? If so, a very nice cider indeed, one of my top 3 ciders.
Sooooo much better than the like of Magners...and that vile Stella stuff isn't even worth mentioning.
