Don't buy. The Vodafone Smart 7, Ultra 7 and Pro 7 releases are imminent with upgraded SD octacore CPU, latest OS, the Pro coming with a fingerprint scanner too. Ultra 7 is the one to aim for which is an upgrade over the Ultra 6 and will come in at an expected price of £125.

It may have been this price for a while (stock has been regularly selling out), but it's hard to argue its value. Show me any other £100 phone (from UK seller) that has a 1080p screen, 2GB RAM, 16GB storage, microSD etc.
The only thing that may put people off is its size, with 5.5" screen it's pretty large. After I had used it for a couple of hours I turned on my old phone, with its decent size 4.7" screen and it felt small. It's funny how quickly you adjust.

Locked to Vodafone but you can get unlock codes for £3-£12.

Both colours available for £99 each direct from Vodafone (standard rules regarding 'keep existing sim option')
Yeah I used that seller for my Ultra 6, got the eBay message with my unlock code about 20mins after buying.
I put in an ASDA SIM, but still need to phone EE for PAC code to carry over my old phone number (not looking forward to that...).

Bought from Vodafone the other day as a replacement for my Nexus 4 that keeps spontaneously shutting down and refusing to reboot! Think its a bargain for £99. Not sure why its looks are so maligned... It doesn't look as cheap as it is and the screen is very pretty. Am slightly scared of the glass breaking but the phone is huge so reluctant to add to the bulk with a sturdy case!

I can't believe this isn't hot yet. Inferior moto g phones seem to instantly attract heat even when they are 50% more expensive than this.

I'm talking about some of the older moto g's that wereinferior and more expensive than the su6 and attracted a lot more heat.

Marketing, plus people see 'vodafone' and are put off.
The camera in this isn't as good as an iphone 8s or samsung galaxy s12, but its a hell of a lot better than the original moto G camera I upgraded from.
I broke my SU6 and ended up with a nexus 5x stupidly thinking it was an upgrade. I prefered the SU6, screen seems nicer, hasn't got a stupid usb C connecter which seemed a good idea at the time, and it feels snappier and battery life is miles better - twice as good. Struggling to see why the 5x cost many times more on release. Offered the 5x to my wife so I could get another Su6 but she heard me moaning about the less than a day battery life and doesn't want it even for free!

If you want good battery life and an extremely quality phone for this sort of price go for the Ulefone Power
Wow, this phone's price hasn't really changed for about a year.

9 Jun 161#22
It has been around at this price for about 9 months, on and off. Still a good phone, but it will not see another upgrade.
The Moto G4 plus is a serious competitor, but obviously more expensive. And I am worried about the screen breaking, so it not being expensive is an advantage.

I'm typing off a su6, and I can't fault it one little bit, it's the only phone I've had that had been faultless and I've been through the usual lot, but I'd urge anyone to have a play around with this, it's ridiculous how they charge £500-700 when you can get a phone like this for £100.
Wife has a galaxy note 4,and I prefer using my su6, that says it all.

For anyone interested in examples of pictures this phone takes then look at this thread.
My wife's had her note 4 updated to marshmallow, and I can't tell what they've changed from lollypop...
looking on YouTube, VERY little...
Why people get soo obsessive over a phone not having the latest update is beyond me.
It's gullible individual that these big cooperation have wrapped around their little fingers, and have them buying their latest handset because they've claimed to have revolutionised their new phones by moving the volume buttons from one side to the other.

It really is a cracking phone. Camera is good, it wont beat the latest xperia or galaxy but for £100 you won't beat the phone overall. As long as you are not a phone snob, this is for you! Heat

Android 6 Marshmallow has the Doze feature which is an advantage for battery saving over the Android 5
Also you can move some apps to SD card and use as internal storage
Apart from that no major change

Security patches for one. There's always vulnerabilities found and these updates patch them. There are features added, mostly just backend stuff for developers. There's the new permissions system that doesn't ask for permissions until it needs them and not when installing the application which I think is great. The Doze feature that saves battery life. The new storage system so you can use a micro-SD card as internal storage to try save a device with a dire amount.

Love this phone. Had it since September. Broke the earphone socket though :disappointed: My own stupid fault! Can't beat it for the price (in UK at least) and the cameras are fantastic in normal lighting conditions.

According to my Mrs, and afew others I know, they've not noticed any difference in their phones after the update, including any sort of improvements with their batteries.
It's nice of Google to bring back a feature that they had, and decided to remove in one of their previous updates with being able to transfer apps onto sd cards.
Don't be hoping for a life changing experience when you do get it on whatever phone you have.
As I said earlier, they put these updates out, giving the impression it's some sort of life changing experience that you NEED to have on your phone, for gullible people to get them to purchase the latest/greatest handsets.

I've experienced all Android versions. Do you expect them to do a Microsoft Windows 8 and change everything in one go?
Each version brings new features. Like I said, most of it is developer stuff that you would never actually see.
None of the features I mentioned had been removed and brought back. They are new features.

Smart Ultra 7 will be released soon, with Marshmallow and better camera (hopefully). So snap up the few remaining SU6's while you can. SU7 will probably be around £120 so £99 is still a bargain for SU6.

If I had a penny for every time this was posted I would have enough money to buy one.
I bought this but got sent silver. Complained as I need to keep phone and now have to buy a case to cover the ugly grey and Amazon have refunded me £15. £85 for a smart ultra silver is a bargain

For £10 more, the Xiaomi Red 3 Note Pro (with global ROM) is the better phone. The only exception is if you're on O2 in which case you have no 4G, but 4G works brilliantly with the other telcos.

Bought it from Argos for £99. A bit too big to use one-handed but its more than made for by the big screen as its quite nice to look at the photos, videos and play games etc.
I was disappointed to discover I am unable to use some of the Indian languages(Punjabi, Gujarati - although Hindi isnt an issue) on the Google Keyboard. My 3 year old Nexus 4 does it without any issue. I cant see how this can be a hardware issue... Anyways thought i leave this comment for the indian who's thinking of buying this and expecting to use the Google Indic keyboard on it..

We have two of these in our household! And just bought one of these on this link, so we all have one now as a couple of us needed an upgrade but don't need or warrant an overrated £600 iPhone!!! BRILLIANT phone for the money!! Easy to forget that it's under £100!! Camera is decent enough!!
This is a great deal as Vodafone now have apparently made it impossible to "keep current sim", so the phone is costing a minimum of £109.99! (EVEN THOUGH WE HAVE DONE THIS TWICE THIS WEEK ON VODAFONES WEBSITE)
