I'm still using a Dell monitor from more than 10yrs ago, which is still going strong although I need to replace it now tbh. The stand on the monitor is great because it allows u to move it in all directions, which contrasts with the newer more static ones, which don't allow any manipulation of the positioning. I mean surely it's worth charging an extra tenner to have a multidirectional stand?
Great deal.
FreeSync only work with AMD graphics cards?

It's part of the new displayport standard, so if it doesn't end up supported by nvidia it'll only be through their arrogance.

Need to regular office use to look at spread-sheets, emails, etc. Not needed for gaming? Can I get better for costing less?

From my experience if you can get a 21:9 monitor 25" - 29" these are awesome for multitasking, spreadsheets and indeed pretty decent for gaming too. Not at this price though unfortunately, but well worth the investment once you get used to having such a wide work space area.

Anyway, I'm going to opt for another Dell monitor - something like this: Dell UltraSharp 24 InfinityEdge Monitor with Arm | U2417HA http://configure.euro.dell.com/dellstore/config.aspx?c=uk&cs=ukdhs1&kc=305&l=en&oc=U2417HA&s=dhs&sbc=dell-u2417ha-monitor
