I know the RRP is inflated, but this is the cheapest it's ever been on Amazon, next closest is £140 in early 2015, usually around £180-240 based on CamelCamelCamel tracking! Seems a great deal for a good washer from a reliable brand with a 6 year guarantee!

I recently had a problem with an VAX upright, purchased 3 years ago, came with 6 year guarantee. Spoke to CS, first lady said I would need to pay £14.99 for the part, wasn't having any of that. I had the same problem few years back and they sent the part free. Rang back, spoke to a different lady and she sent me a new upright, received it less than 24 hours from when I made the phone call. Just gotta email 3 photos of the old machine, including the serial number which i need to cut into four pieces. We also have the carpet cleaner but have hardly used it.

Had to get carpet cleaner replaced by them this year and had seen they have improved the system. They used to email or post out a form which you would have to fill in and place the serial number sticker onto then post it back, but new system cuts down time waiting for replacment. Old way used to add a week onto the turn around time for recieving a replacement. A still don't know how it can be cost effective to send out a brand new machine each time it breaks.

I paid £160 for 1 of these2 years ago. It's good, cleans very well. A clip broke on mine which was annoying, but it's still usable. The attachment for upholstery etc is absolutely rubbish though.

it was like that for a while. Try to contact amazon chat with a case where the cs rep needs to think a bit you will see how you get the policy non sense and copy/paste replies. You can add to it: "I'm just checking your account" for 10 minutes. Once one of the reps admitted he was on 7 different chats at the same time.

While this is a great carpet cleaner had one for over 7 years now and the service from VAX is brilliant (I had one hose split and they asked me to send it back, which annoyed me as i could fit the part myself i just wanted them to send me the part under warranty. However they sent me a brand new unit)
The fact that they have had this model out for 7 years and still claim the RRP is £350 is rubbish. I paid £200 for it 7 years ago. The carpet cleaning technology must have moved on since then.

It's very rare that vax will ever replace any indvidual components on a machine. A vax upright I bought from argos came with a 2 year warranty and I was never off the phone to vax the problem being after a couple of weeks/months the pedal that holds the upright up when not in use would break at which point they would send a full brand new machine out, they sent 7 new machines out in total expecting me to get rid of each of the broken ones as well and asking for a £4 admin fee for each replacement. We also have a Vax dual power carpet cleaner which has been replaced by vax twice the first time made no sense as it was something on the removable plate underneath that had broke meaning the brushbars would not stay in place, I thought they would just send a replacement part out but they decided to send a brand machine out instead. I don't believe they actually fix anything when their products go faulty even if it is only a minor problem that could be fixed.

Amazon is kinda crap nowadays. Their CS became shocking as well. It takes me all the time around 30 minutes to sort out something.

Just be careful , I bought Vax V-125A All Terrain Upright Carpet Washer £139.99 one week ago from Amazon ( http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/vax-v-125a-terrain-upright-carpet-washer-139-99-amazon-2458776 ) and they sent me the used or refurbished in the shocking condition two times. The second item was wet :confused:, of course i did return them. Amazon costumer service was helpful , but I am so surprise about Amazon. so make sure check properly when you receive item. I just rented the rug doctor for £20 from Hombase.
