I have just bought one as unfortunately we had a visitor yesterday who used our W.C. and consequently we have to replace our toilet seat. You can't be too careful.

Be careful if you get the soft close one. Whenever we're around friends houses and hubby goes to the bathroom, I have to apologise when we hear the seat crash down, saying he thinks he's at home.

It's not even a spelling issue. People actually say brought out loud when you speak to them.

Thank you OP. I got a Cedo soft close one for £10 reduced from £22 - bargain!

The only problem with a soft close toilet seat is that when you get people that don't know how they work they break them, like visitors. Best to leave the seat up.

Oh no, that's why I wanted a soft close seat to stop the seat being left up - oh boy haha!
