I have bought 3 Chinese phones over the last year and all play up at some point or another. I've decided I'll stick to UK dedicated brands now so when stuff goes wrong it's easier to sort out. Just saying. ZTE blade s6, lenovo k50 and ulefone power... Never again. Next phone is likely to be moto g4 plus
Terrible seller, would not recommend. No contact and takes forever to dispatch.

It's the latest there is at the moment. I hear (my son's working in HK and walks past the Xiaomi shop everyday) that Xiaomi have at least 2 new models 'coming soon'. One with a 5.5 inch screen like this one but updated and fully working with all UK network and a new 5.7 inch model in their Note range. The 5.7 is the one I'm waiting for.
My son bought this one about 3 months back and says it's the best phone he's ever had! And he's had LOTS!

Looks like this is the China ROM version from the Q&As on the Gearbest page.
You'll need to flash the ROM.
4Real2016 to Picard123
26 Jun 16#18
I don't think so, it has multi language support so its probably Global, China ROM only supports Chinese and English.
Both ROMS require you to install google play unless its done by the seller.

Well specced phone, how does the warranty work?
RobertM0215 to bmz
26 Jun 162#20
I asked similar questions in the HUKD forum - it's only had a few answers but it really helped me so I've copied and pasted from that thread.
1. Can I trust the spec advertised is accurate?
- In most cases yes, more trustworthy to deal with retailers rather than companies like Aliexpress and buy a well reviewed phone.
2. Is there some kind of spyware or similar that is going to compromise your personal details?
- Nobody can give a definitive answer to this. It's a risk you take with any app on any smartphone.
3. Are the phones ready to go straight out of the box?
- In most cases they will be useable however some changes would benefit the user - e.g. removing chinese characters. Don't expect to be buying a phone
like you would from Carphone Warehouse.
4. When a handset is sold with an old version of Android, can it be updated?
- Depending on the handset there may be enough of a following to have a solid custom ROM developed that would allow you to root your device and update the android version. However I would say no. No official update will be provided.
5. I've seen the term "flash the memory" - what does that mean and is it necessary to do this in order to get the mobile phone to work properly in the UK?
- It basically means to root the phone to gain additional access to install a custom rom. It isn't necessary to get the phone to work.
6. What about warranty? It looks like most have a 3 month UK warranty which is why I've seen recommendations to buy using a credit card. Is this accurate?
-Ignore the warranty. The cost of shipping simply isn't worth it in my opinion. I've received a handset that was dead on arrival and PayPal refused to refund me. Buy from a reputable seller.
7. Is the after sales service not worth the paper (or website) it's written on?
-Please see above. You are basically on your own once you receive the phone

Buy using a credit card then your covered, this applies to anything over £100 (Google Section 75)

I know, that's why I posted about it. The 3X is just a 3S customised for one Chinese network so no point bothering with that, the 3S looks good once the prices reaches a reasonable level, it's way too high atm compared to the 3 Pro.

I do recommend this seller on Ali express. I bought it and and asked seller to send sealed package so i can put Google Play myself and be sure its brand new. Also asked to declare low value so didn't pay any customs in UK. Parcel took just two weeks. It came with China ROM with Chinese and English languages only. Also from this seller you get free extra gifts like: clear case, sim adapter and screen protector.
Be careful, I bought one for my mother last year, after a few months the screen kept going black stopping her from completing any functions like hanging up calls etc. There are several other issues but it will take too long to list here.

Just in the process of returning 2x Ulefone Paris phones. Both had malware installed by default...terribly slow charing...one has completely failed to charge and the other has an ever growing white hotspot on the screen.
Back to my iPhone 4S - which though inferior in absolute speed, is better in most other ways.

This one has a smaller screen compared to the Note version, think of the Note version similar to Note series from Samsung: bigger screens:

6 Jul 16#87
Please see my previous comment, this one:
Display: 5.0 inch 1280 x 720 HD Screen
CPU: Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 Octa Core 4 x 1.5GHz + 4 x 1.2GHz
The Note 3 Pro:
Display: 5.5 inch, 1920 x 1080 Pixel Screen with 403 PPI
CPU: Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 64bit 1.8GHz Hexa Core ( 2 x A72 + 4 x A53 )
There are other small differences as well, but the screen is the most obvious

6 Jul 161#92
If you don't reflash you'll never get an update and will be running some dodgy version that are often loaded with adverts or even malware and from the moaning I've seen on forums they're buggy and pretty unstable, crashing or apps not working.
Basically if you don't reflash you'll regret it and hate the phone. I'd go with the Xiaomi.eu rom.

The only gripe I have with it is the camera isnt as good as my LG G3. iI have improved the camera though by installing 'camera Zoom FX' it seems to have made a big difference. The problem with them is janky software, the hardware is usually spot on for the cash but it seems that software is a huge problem with slow (if any) updates so if it has a bad bug when it arrives chances are your gonna have to live with it.

The fingerprint sensor is located on the back of the phone... not the best choice, in my opinion.
Hard to justifiy all that money on a device with no warranty from China when you can buy something from a high-street store from a reputable manufacturer
UK brands Moto G 2nd Gen dead after 1 year..
Voted cold as this phone is the 5inch model.
Ebay well that's your choice, I'd refresh straight away with the official Rom from http://en.miui.com though.
Display: 5.0 inch 1280 x 720 HD Screen v 5.5 FullHD
The CPU is also a bit different.
If you don't reflash you'll never get an update and will be running some dodgy version that are often loaded with adverts or even malware and from the moaning I've seen on forums they're buggy and pretty unstable, crashing or apps not working.
Basically if you don't reflash you'll regret it and hate the phone. I'd go with the Xiaomi.eu rom.
There is ZERO lag on the the Note 3, it is silky smooth on everything you do.
