And your point is? Many of the best games out there are linear not every game has to be forcibly open world ruining pacing and story

Nothing wrong with Linear games, in fact I prefer them a hell of a lot more than forgettable open world games like Just Cause 3. Only one open world game in the past few generations has impressed me in the same level of quality in the campaign as an Uncharted game. and that was Red Dead, games like GTA V and Sleeping Dogs are great for what they are but aren't as rememberable to me as linear games like Uncharted and TLOU.

Thanks for your opinion. What has your favourite game been this year?

It may end up being better in your opinion and many others, but where review scores, sales, hype and marketing are concerned, I would bet my life that U4 wins goty.

You could argue it's HotukSSD deals, HotukTesco deals, etc. There will always been multiple deals for multiple products due to their popularity.

Played Last of Us Remastered and thought it was great. Then played Uncharted 1 as part of the PS4 collection and thought it was ok, considering it was an early PS3 game I overlooked some issues. Didn't get to play Uncharted 2 or 3 (sold the collection whilst trade-in price was high). Played through Uncharted 4 and thought... meh. Became a grind toward the end and felt that I have got so far and need to finish. Not a bad game by any means but I thought it was rather average.

Let's not get carried away shall we. I would be extremely surprised if Dishonored 2 didn't turn out to be better than this and that's just one example from the top of my head.

And they were responding to someone who prefers last of us to this giving the reason that U4 is linear...
So it fully warranted making the comment.
Not everyone prefered LOU either..

Anyone want to swap Doom for uncharted? I only want to play the single player of each and finished doom last night

It's a linear experience (although they've hidden that well) and that isn't a bad thing in such a story driven game. Having bought at £50 and made most of it back with trade in. I felt I more than got my moneys worth.
TLOU is a completely different game, despite the fact that they share a lot of animation and mechanics similarities they have completely different vibes. TLOU had you feeling pressure and threat looming over you most of the time, where as in UC4 that lifts for extended periods of climbing and more dialogue. You're encouraged to explore and search out alternate paths through an environment or treasures, rather than crafting components to keep yourself alive in TLOU.
Both have big merits, both are great games and worth playing. They both sit at near the top of my favourites, and this a great price for a very recent game.

This is astonishing work by Naughty Dog. The film like quality, graphics and attention to detail could only have been produced by ND. I agree though, Last of Us is the pinnacle of gaming so far, because of its emotive storytelling. In fact I'd say the LOU additional content game Left Behind which gives the back story is the pinnacle; the end of that is astonishingly well done.

One of the best online TPS (Third Person Shooter) out there you probably wasn't good at it Overwatch is much more casualised imo

Really? I hated it. I got this game just before it came out but most multiplayer gaming I have done since then has been on Overwatch.

Try The Last of Us if you have never played it. You can usually pick up the PS4 version reasonably cheaply these days and I guarantee that it is one of the best purchases that you will ever make.

UC4 is linear but the way it works is so seemeless, the graphics, the feeling you're part of a film, it's staggering how well crafted and detailed UC4 is.

If The Last of Us is better than this, then it must be totally amazing, as this game is jaw droppingly good. I've never played a game as good as Uncharted 4. I've played 100's of games before and nothing comes close to this for me so far.

I had a lot of fun, the graphics are just out of this world and so are the setpieces. It's like you're playing a movie. I just had to see how the story continues too, I think it's definitely recommended for people who have played the other ones. You can see little expressions on everybody that really makes the acting work, especially on the bad guy. I was impressed that there was more strong female characters, on both sides and someone neutral that I am dying to have a game about.

If you can wait until it gets closer to £20 then I'd recommend it.
For such a linear and at times tedious gameplay experience, the £30 outlay is still a little high. It's not even in the same league as Last of Us.
I got my money back courtesy of CEX, so felt fine about it.

Aww don't do this, I just platinumed the game and now I want to sell it
Which are glitched? It took me about 19 hours to get everything over a couple of weekends. I must admit though that I got two of the longer trophies by starting the prologue in chapter select then going to chapter select again and finishing the last chapter and it got the sharpshooter and speedrun trophies.

You need to consider the age of the other Uncharted games you mentioned, which when they came out had mechanics which seemed fresh. Five year after UC3, these appear quite dated or have been done better by competing franchises, like Tomb Raider. That being said, it's a spectacular looking game and has some amazing set pieces.

It's weird this is the best uncharted game, but still doesn't hit the heights of Last of Us; making it a 9/10 when UC2 and 3 were 10/10.
An essential play, but the platinum can take a while as some of the trophies are glitched. In comparison to those games where multiple playthroughs are fun, this can become quite grinding on the 3rd playthrough as there are a lot of slow sections.
