With Buyagift I tend to wait until they have a voucher for 23% off, then before buying I phone the Hotel, if they have a room I then buy the voucher and phone them back with the code.

Buyagift hotels - sometimes the hotel have their own 'rules' - insist that you purchase dinner (Carlton Riverside) or ask for a supplement (Afon Rhaiadr), or don't allow bookings May to Septmber or weekends! - so check the list out before you buy.
