No, it hasn't this is the 2016 version with 15nm 3-bit-per-cell NAND flash, whereas this one is the older version with 19nm NAND flash

That is a different SSD, this is the updated 2016 version with smaller components, 4nm smaller to be exact, a bit like an updated CPU with smaller transistors. If the old one got 400 degrees a week ago I don't see why people rate this cold now

The CCC page shows £79.99 since end April for 'B01AWP7L7M' which from what I can see is the 2016 version.

I was pointing out its been this price for weeks. Thats all. Your claim that the ccc page is for the older one seems incorrect.

Well according to the RRP (which is super inflated I know) it was actually reduced as this is an updated version of the Q300, I didn't know which Q300 you CCC'ed now did I? ^^

Before purchasing this please do read the reviews - 25% of them are 1 star reviews! Seems to be a high failure rate.

I'm guessing that's why they made the 2016 version? But true there do seem to be alot of complaints
In fairness most SSDs fail, had 6, 2 failed, seems to be the way it goes

jai47's post was incorrect, there is a different CCC graph that that one, it shows what you described yes but I was just pointing out that it was a different SSD :smiley: the original is 79.99, and so is this better, updated 2016 one, so seems a deal to me, no extra cost for an upgraded SSD ^^

Smaller isn't better, it's just cheaper for Toshiba to produce because they get more nand from each silicon wafer.
The performance won't be better than the 19nm, probably slightly worse. It'll also have poorer endurance so the drive won't last as long.
The only real benefit to the end user is that it'll use slightly less power, but the difference will be minimal.
