Great price for what you're getting. Simple upgrades and replacement but maybe not for high demand computing.

I don't know what to make of this drive. According to the Amazon reviews there seems to be a lot of people complaining of failures.

Best bet is Samsung Evo 850. But it costs a lot more.

I have been using two of these for 8 months in a desktop.
So far they are fast and reliable and only 1% Lifetime used with the monitoring utility.

The scam one, a user with low feedback and 100 of them to sell. I guess people will be protected by Paypal if they bought one.

My son has one of these in his laptop, it works blazingly fast. It has turned what was a decent spec Sony Vaio, into an absolute speed demon. Turn the laptop on and the desktop is ready to go within two seconds, click a program to load and it's instant, no waiting, no spinning loading signs or anything. If you have the cash spare buy one, revive any existing machine that has the SATA interface. (it is backwards compatible and will work on earlier versions of the SATA standard, just not as "blazingly" fast I assume) although they have gone back up in price to £54.99. Not as much of a bargain, but still a fantastic piece of kit for any suitable machine.
Just noticed that using Code SSD changes Price down to £43.99 (apparently for today)

I have this SSD installed in my OC'd 6700K running at 4.59GHz for the past seven months. Very happy with it.
Mine boots up faster than the two second claim above ^ (It takes 15 seconds from the time I press the Power SW). Click a program and it loads yesterday. No spinning here...

I want to install this in a new PC so have bought a 3.5" to 2.5" mounting bracket with it.
I plan to put a fresh install of Win7 on it and then upgrade to Win10.
Other than the mounting bracket, do I need anything else?

If it's replacing an existing drive then nothing else needed but if adding in addition then you'll need another SATA data cable.
Have you already upgrade to Win10 from your existing Win7 hard drive? if yes then you won't need to install W7 onto the SSD to upgrade, you can install W10 direct to SSD as the machine's ID & licence will already be known as a legitimate W10 install.

Some additional information. You can do a fresh install regardless as long as you have the licence key, since Windows 10 build 1511 you can enter the Windows7/8 licence key on installation. If the licence is stored in the MSDM table in the BIOS then it won't ask for the licence to be entered and will automatically activate.

So, I could create a Win10 ISO disc, run the install and then input my Win7 license key?

I bought a graphics card from ebuyer once, it was new but when it arrived it was clearly used and thick with dust. They refused to accept it back and so from that day forth I refuse to buy from them ever again.

No problem, you'd be protected if you paid by Paypal so I guess it could be worth a punt, but they've not dropped that much in price yet, especially not from a person with less than 20 feedback on eBay
There won't be much of a difference for most people. The main difference will be going from a HDD -> SSD. There are some SSD drives which aren't that great (I think it's the Crucial BX200 but I'm not 100% sure) where there may be slight performance dips but in your day to day use you won't notice it unless you test through a benchmark program. Even upgrading from a 500MB/s normal SATA SSD to a 1000MB/s+ NVME SSD won't give you enough gains for the price difference (usually twice as expensive per GB and requires higher end hardware) and you won't perceive your system to be any faster.

I think it is reliability. Samsung also offer 5 years on the Evo 850. Reviews seem to rate the Samsung drive.
Sandisk and Crucial appear to have more complaints.
My Crucial had an error after 2 weeks. They replaced it and I sold it. Time is money!
If you value your data, the extra may be worth it. If you don't care eg save important things in the "cloud" then it is a different situation.
