What on earth are you talking about, Just checked the price of a $15 CD Xbox Live card @ PCGameSupply and they are as of now priced £8.68 so $5.00 works out costing £2.89.

Just gave this a go tonight, just over 4000 people playing, all spread out of the maps, a lot of maps and modes empty, game is dead at this level, never new it was this bad.
